If you find the world and setting to be something you would enjoy, and like 2000s era RPG gameplay, then I think it would be great value and something you would enjoy.
I haven't personally played it on PS4, but I know that the way they treat the setting is better than some of the other trash you put yourself through.

By s y Go To PostNew NA PSN deals are going live. $4.99 for Mirrors Edge, $19.99 for Horizon etc etcYeah, I was hoping for a bit less for Tekken 7. Might get it either, ends up being nearly 30€ so will probably go for it, Horizon and maybe Mirror's Edge.

Best Buy the best. They've really stepped it up past few years out of necessity to survive i imagine.
Dead Rising got me to sign up on SDA to try and learn how to route it. My sanity was more important. lol. Ended up learning other games instead.
By s y Go To Postuh... naw. I mean the game is neat and it's decent training for FighterZ but it's too complex for me to pickup.
Anybody play this?
The story mode is hilarious because it's just cutscenes.

By diehard Go To PostIf this means i have to pay $80-$100 for a game instead of letting whales fund it so they can get different clothing, it's not good.Or maybe they will go back to the model of expansions and other forms of more substantial content to get funds.

More likely, they will keep loot boxes but also let you spend the money to purchase what you want directly.
Im just saying as long as it doesn't give any competitive advantage, im ok with microtransactions if it means i don't have to pay for additional content, ala Halo 5.
I know it doesnt exactly apply to loot boxes (the gambling aspect) , just speaking about this new financial model as a whole.

they'll still push the poor devs narrative that they're not making hundreds of millions in profits every year.
The half billion dollars profit isn't enough! Game's are too cheap!! Rinse the peasants!

By blackace Go To PostIsn't that the point?Of micro-transactions? No, its fairly rare. Basically the reason everyone is losing their minds over this Battlefront stuff.
By DY_nasty Go To PostLoL wasn't 'just cosmetics' eitherA regular amount of playing in LoL will net you the same game effecting items that paying will. Usually with those types of F2P games you can shorten the progression system by paying, but there usually isnt any competitive advantage within the game you are matched in.

By DY_nasty Go To Postwhat do you call a regular amount? you make it sound like you have a full roster of characters available to you on install and all of the marks or whatever they're called to fill out their skill sheetsThis can depend on what you want to do. Older champions are cheap and you can buy a new one after a few games (especially if you win a game), not to mention that buying any more than that will just hurt your competitive chances because you wont have time to learn a champ. Runes you buy at low levels are limited by your level, not usually your IP spent on them (you can only use a few at low levels and it unlocks more slots over time). By the time you are level 30 you have enough IP to buy whatever runes to fill out your page.
Paying in LoL will allow you to max out more champions (mostly buy having runes for every type of champion), or at least different types of champions. It doesn't change the balance of a competitive match though. I never paid for anything in LoL and was on an even playing field in each game, i can't say the same had i bought Battlefront.
imma stop with the parenthesis

That sounds like paying for my time. If you want to progress skills or something, sure. Most people will work with that. But paying for characters or throwing them behind a wall of progression that can be swapped out with a pricetag is the same issue. At least LoL is F2P, so its whatever. Capcom and other fighting games making you pay for characters before they can even release a full game top to bottom? That's how dumb this has got. You can't just blame the consumer for shit practices.
CoD is hasn't been cosmetic only for a while. You're paying for weapons now.
By DY_nasty Go To PostThat sounds like paying for my time. If you want to progress skills or something, sure. Most people will work with that. But paying for characters or throwing them behind a wall of progression that can be swapped out with a pricetag is the same issue.I probably didn't do a good job of explaining it, there are no champion or runes in LoL that you can only get by paying real money. I bought everything i wanted to just with the in game currency, without ever playing the game with the purpose of earning money. Most importantly, no game was ever swayed and i never felt like i would have been more competitive had i spent money. I have legitimately not had any major problems with micro-transactions in any game i have played yet.
Don't know anything about fighting games though. Are the weapons you get in CoD from the loot boxes actually better?

Again, I'm mostly okay with LoL because its F2P but its not as simple and consumer friendly as you were making it out.

By DY_nasty Go To PostYou don't have to spend real money, but if you just want to actually play the game on even footing, with the character you want - that'll take how long or cost how much? They might have changed this but no i believe no account can buy a champion (with real money or in-game) before hitting level 3, and when you hit level 3 you should have enough points to buy whichever champion you wish (except maybe the brand new ones) and you will be on even ground with anyone who spends an infinite amount of money. RP in LoL basically just lets you do two things: have every single champion released and the runes to support them, and gets you skins. It's the most consumer friendly model that i can imagine for a F2P game.
