Kyoto it's not too far from the nearest shrine, it might be if you wait for the cutscene but you can see the red moon in the sky well before that. Also you only have to look for the red moon on days when it's full so just look up now and then and see where the moon is on the lunar cycle.
As far as finding all the shrines, it gets difficult at the end but just turn on your sensor and try to explore all the corners of the map that you haven't been to or just ran though earlier. There are a lot of shrines in Hebra so make sure you fully explore it, also there are 15 stables on the map and each one (except for the one near Rito village) has its own shrine near by so make sure you have all 15.
But even I had to use a guide for my last shrine (the NPC with the quest was hiding in a corner the first time I went there and I would have never thought to go back)

I'm impressed if you found all those shrines in Hebra solo. I remember my brother and I walking around in circles and climbing those mountains forever chasing blips on that dumb sensor, while the entrance to the tunnel you need to access it is miles away.
Oh also the sensor is not not proximity based. You have to be fairly close for it to beep but the beeps are based on the direction youre going, faster beeps when you're pointed directly at the shrine and slower depending on how off your angle is. So you can be right next to the shrine and it won't beep if you're walking away from it. Knowing that you can pretty much pinpoint exactly where a shrine is.
So a new patch just went up today, it lets you choose dual audio - ie., Japanese voice acting with English subtitles, etc. You can switch between a bunch of languages, French, Spanish, etc. I think for Switch the voices are on the cart, but for Wii U I had to download them separately.
I think I will wait for DLC 1 and hero's path to find the remaining shrines I haven't spotted. Might as well.

PRAISE BE TO ALLAH
They also gave out the details for the first round of DLC:

Doesn't sound like a ton that grabs me, tbh - depending on how serious Trial of the Sword is. If it's just a bunch of kill rooms a la Savage Labyrinth or Cave of Ordeals then meh. Round 1 always sounded kind of thin from when it was first outlined, but I was hoping the game's reception would make it a bit more robust. I wanted hard mode to be a full Master Quest, rather than just bumping all the enemies up a level. I guess bumping up the difficulty, getting the korok mask + using hero's path will give you something to do if you just want to keep playing around in this world getting all the korok seeds you missed & finishing upgrading everything/filling out Hyrule compendium along the way.
By Zelda.comTrial of the Sword
When you get to a certain sacred location, you can take on the new "Trial of the Sword" challenge. Face an onslaught of enemies, one wave after another. Link starts the challenge without any equipment or weapons. When all the enemies in a room are defeated, Link proceeds to the next. Clear all the trials (about 45 rooms in total), and the power of the Master Sword will be awakened, and it will always be in its glowing powered-up state while usable.
Hero's Path Mode
This new map feature shows the path Link has walked through Hyrule from the last 200 hours of gameplay. Use the time tracker bar to see where you've spent the most time and where you have yet to explore. There's bound to be more adventures and maybe a shrine or two on the road less traveled.
Hard Mode
In Hard Mode, enemies gradually regain health, so take them out as quickly as possible. All enemies are also powered up by one level. For example, Red Bokoblins in Normal mode are now Blue Bokoblins. Enemies can also have higher maximum levels than they would in Normal mode. Look up, and you may also find enemies and treasure chests in the sky!
Travel Medallion
Somewhere in the world, there is a chest with a Travel Medallion inside. When you use this, you can register your current location as a fast travel point on the map. You can only register one location using the Travel Medallion.
More Armor
There are 8 treasure chests placed around Hyrule containing armor themed after previous The Legend of Zelda titles. Watch for tips as to the whereabouts of these chests as you travel around Hyrule.
Korok Mask
The Korok Mask is also hidden in a treasure chest somewhere in the world. While wearing this mask, it shakes whenever Link is near a hidden Korok location. There are 900 Koroks hiding in Hyrule, so this should help you discover quite a few of them.

Wow, just when I thought I had everything, I find Kilton randomly by a lake late one night and he's selling the Dark Link from Zelda II armour.
I probably could have finished this game weeks ago, but I keep going because I don't want it to end. Finished all the shrines and I think all the sidequests. Maxing out all the armour now, which has actually been more fun of a scavenger hunt than you might think...But why does the game want me to spend so much time beating up Naydral at this point?

Major bump but I assume there are still plenty of folks on here who want to talk BOTW. I'm doing a new playthrough right now and I'm torn. On one hand I want to beat the game without ever talking to Impa and maybe even without doing any of the divine beasts. On the other hand, if I don't talk to Impa I can't get the camera feature or upgrade any of my rune abilities...I'm not sure what to do. Maybe I should try to play this playthrough while using the run powers as sparingly as possible. I've even thought about playing with no air gliding to try to make the game as grounded and "realistic" as possible. Any thoughts anyone?
Thank you for reminding me that I still need to finish this.
Your planned playthrough seems hardcore.

Any word on when the next DLC is coming? This game is pretty much the only thing keeping me from getting rid of my wii u.
By heynongman Go To PostAny word on when the next DLC is coming? This game is pretty much the only thing keeping me from getting rid of my wii u.No word. It's supposed to be this year but some have speculated (only speculation with no evidence) that it will be delayed because of how packed Nintendo's holiday schedule is. I think it will drop in December some time.

That's pretty neat actually. I might try Japanese for a change. English was ok, but I think French was better.
So it's been awhile since I've played the game but I feel like my weapons are breaking a lot faster than before. Did something happen in an update? I'm about 100 hours in and my weapons are breaking after just a few hits it seems.
Beat the elephant dungeon.
Im enjoying the game so far. Are there a lot of clothes in the game? I wanna deck link out. I only ha e the waterfall and hyrule armor so far.
The weapon degradation hasnt bothered as much as I thought it would but there are a lot of really cool looking weapons so it sucks to lose them.
Is there any way to track playtime on Switch? My profile page only tells me when I first started playing it.

Think you have to download the parental control app to keep track of playtime, and even then it's pretty vague
By s y Go To PostBeat the elephant dungeon.Including the DLC itens, there are around 100+ armour items.

The profile page starts telling you the number of hours but only 5 days after you started playing or something stupid like that.
By s y Go To PostHorses are trash in this game lmaoYou mean the controls or the fact that they can't be called from anywhere? Cause if you're talking about the controls I couldn't disagree more. Also don't waste your time finding all the korok seeds the game itself doesn't even want you to.

I was surprised how awful the horse it felt considering everything else in Zelda seems pretty refined.
By s y Go To PostBoth. Coming from Assassin's Creed Origins, the horse controls so much better in that game.Is your horse fully tamed? Idk I really like Botw horse controls, they were going for realism I think, it feels like you're riding an animal rather than controlling one like a car. It makes horse back archery and combat much better than it would be if you had to constantly steer the horse.

I just spent all my money on this house in Hateno village lol.
So I have my champions tunic and did the elephant dungeoun. Should I proceed to the other diving beasts, or just fuck around and do the towers and explore?

It's your choice. I spent a lot of time just fucking around, must have played about 60h before finishing the divine beasts. I have 100h of game time now and still haven't faced Ganon but I have explored Hyrule Castle a few times.

Do what ones naturally. Even afte 460 hours, on my 4th playthrough I simply don't follow a set path
By boris_feinbrand Go To PostEven after 460 hoursWow! Thats impressoive. I'm still waiting on the switch to tell me what my playtime is, it just says I started playing 11 days ago.
Also, it rains too much.
By s y Go To PostI just spent all my money on this house in Hateno village lol.Yeah just do whatever you want, unlock towers, find more shrines, upgrade your gear. It was at the point you're at now where the game really opened up for me. One thing though, the beast in the upper left gives you a very useful buff for exploring so you may wanna do that one early on (it's also the shortest of all 4 beasts as far as the quest line so you may be disappointed if you save it for last)

Also for rain, just keep wood and Flint on you at all times to make a fire to skip forward in time.
By s y Go To PostWow! Thats impressoive. I'm still waiting on the switch to tell me what my playtime is, it just says I started playing 11 days ago.It rains a lot, that's true, but I've just learned to make the rain part of the experience. When I want to climb a mountain, and it rains... well, I'll just search for an overhang, make a campfire and wait it out. I really made an effort to accept the games terms, and shed all the tropes and decades of game conditioning, and it transformed the game for me. It literally felt like the first 3D game I played. It felt like the first time playing Super Mario 64.
Also, it rains too much.
My first playthrough came in at around a 100 hours. I first saw the Zora village about 60 hours in. First scaled Death Mountain 80 hours in.
The only real advice I can give anyone is to unlearn game conventions and just go where the adventure takes you. Before you know it, you start to experience completely unique situations of triumph, failure, involuntary comedy all your own. Everytime I watch someone else play the game I still see approaches, strategies and tricks, I never even thought about. So go wild.
By s y Go To Postwhy spend more materials on better food when you can just make a ton of dubious shit?you dont spend more materials on better food, if you get dubious food that means you mixed status combining effects and totally wasted an item (or more).
i just need the hearts man.
I did this labrynth island thing and I totally don't want to use this royal sword I got. Definitely putting this up at the crib. Also got a sweet diamond tiara.

Sy cooking rocks and shit... Lmao. Also Oquinn if it's the maze I'm thinking of there's a better sword hidden there that respawns every blood moon.
Between giftcards I got and Best Buy certs, I've got around ~100. May burn it on a switch. Feels like 200 is a more appropriate price for it anyway.
Psy liking switch may push me to get it tbh
