NBC pulls some shit out of its ass to pretend like it's doing something same as with these other companies. You don't need more training. You need actual consequences for shit behavior. But fuck it, shit ain't gonna change.
Kind of a wild read considering it used self identification. Telling sexual jokes seems under represented though. Maybe that’s cause I work in the construction field? Sales I would imagine is also rather lewd in that regard too.
I had a pretty good weekend eating naan and watching movies on Netflix

Sexual harassment is the new black.
I know I'm going to get heat for this, but I won't be surprised if 30% of these claims turn out to be false/moneygrabs.

I hate tossing our random numbers, but I agree that a statistical jump in false accusations should happen when there's mass accusations happening and public opinion is at peak.
By Kibner Go To PostThat's way, way, way, way, way higher than the odds of a typical false accusation.Adjusted for the sheer amount of stuff coming out. More people feeling stronk right now, and the higher up you go the more people would rather do a payoff over a "smaller" issue then rather let it come out and in this climate it gets massive.

this sounds like interesting stuff.

I don't think Frank meant to downplay any of the accusations. (at least I hope not). People do have to be on their game though. Even from a media vetting standpoint. Motherfucking project vertias out here trying to blow up WAPO with a fake accuser in the whole Roy Moore scandal.
They had Butts working from home. He was toxic in IGN offices. Dude straight up stopped tweeting in November when things went sideways for IGN.
People are saying Phil Kollar of Polygon/Vox fame deleted his Twitter account and straight up moved back to his hometown after he got called out for being pervy with coworkers. He too became toxic, but has kept his job.
Remember, if you had done nothing wrong and were accused and have prove of no wrongdoing, you'd be screaming from a mountain top and doing everything to save your name or brand.
Max Landis has gone radio silent too btw.

Another day, another big name accused of sexual assault. This time is Paul Haggis (director of Crash and writer of Million Dollar Baby) who has been accused by 4 women, including 2 publicists that say he rapped them.
Another accuser said Haggis told her “I need to be inside you.” She said she was able to escape.
Haggis' lawyer, Christine Lepera – who represented producer Dr. Luke in the wake of pop-star Kesha accusing him of sexual assault – said, "He didn't rape anybody," in a statement.

Franco is a known freak but I haven't heard anything of him being sexually abusive/assaulting. Is there something dropping about him?

Stan the man been duck'd since I found out all the old marvel artists/writers had beef with him for various reasons.

Remember, all the allegations are false in spite of the fact that he doesn't know what the allegations are because he hasn't read them.
Just checking the thread since the last time I posted. Did someone actually shush me? :D
Look, whether some like it or not, there are two sides to these allegations and it's still innocent until guilty last time I checked. I'm not downplaying anything or poo-pooing anything by saying there are probably more than a few women exploiting the real cases for *insert motive here*.

By The Frankman Go To PostJust checking the thread since the last time I posted. Did someone actually shush me? :DThat mindset is one of the reasons why these problems exist in the first place. "She wants something" and "She just wants to get back at him" is stuff people say all the time when it comes to these accusations and is why so many women just never come forward to begin with. There is often no possibility for evidence and people won't believe them anyway, so they don't tell anyone.

Weinstein shook by that double slap.
I don't know exactly how to feel about it, violence (or physical altercation) shouldn't be the answer.
Though he'll probably never face any legal consequences for what he's done so...

But surely the alternative (guilty until proven innocent) is an even More dangerous way to deal with these things?
By The Frankman Go To PostJust checking the thread since the last time I posted. Did someone actually shush me? :DYou really gonna throw out a large number like 30% and then be like "what'd I do guys?"

By Kidjr Go To PostBut surely the alternative (guilty until proven innocent) is an even More dangerous way to deal with these things? Not so much with these kinds of allegations. Someone who is a creep to one person, is often a creep to many others. That's why you see a single allegation against a person then followed by multiple more.
So, no, I don't buy that as a reason to stop believing women when they report this kind of misconduct.
e: also, if your reasoning is that more people are hurt by believing these women, then you are wrong
By Fenderputty Go To PostAren't some of the Franco accusers deleting their tweets?Probably getting harassed to hell and back by random people.
Michael Douglas has spoken out to deny a claim of improper sexual conduct, before it has even been made public.
The Hollywood star said he "felt the need to get ahead" of the situation and to share his "concerns" before a story was published. He said a former employee was accusing him of performing a sex act in front of her more than 30 years ago.
Douglas told Deadline: "This is a complete lie, fabrication, no truth to it whatsoever." He said his lawyer contacted him in December, telling him a media outlet was planning to run a story about the woman's claims.
Innocent until guilty is some hilarious crap I keep seeing spewed. Technically Jimmy Savile is. So uh, durr.
Innocent until proven guilty is a legal barrier, not a barrier to the public discourse around these allegations
By HasphatsAnts Go To PostInnocent until proven guilty is a legal barrier, not a barrier to the public discourse around these allegationsIt's asinine especially since many of the perps won't even be tried or there's statutes of limitation on what they can even be tried for. There's a bunch of guilty as fuck assholes running around who will never see the inside of a court room. And as I mentioned above folks like Savile who are fucking dead and can't answer for their hundreds of victims, yes hundreds.
