Leases, as Kibner found out, are better in some states than others. I believe he had to pay big tax on leasing his Cayman and it was overall cheaper to finance.
For sure. Leases just take more shopping around to figure out vs finance where you know the numbers up front. If you have good credit you can just punch it into an online calculator and have it spit out accurate numbers every time.
Sucks, because again if you're getting an EV you should definitely lease it.

Louisiana and I think one other state charges tax on the full value of the vehicle when you lease it, instead of the lease value. A monthly note over 5 years was cheaper than the monthly lease note. By at least $200 a month.

My newest video...before you watch it, please consider that if you watch less than 5 mins, it hurts the video's performance within the algorithm. So if you can set aside 15-20 mins, and like, share, sub that'd be great. It's a dramatically different production standard than anything I've done before.
🤮
I have no idea why manufacturers feel the need to make every EV aggressively weird like this. One of the big reasons I wound up with a Q4 E-Tron is that it’s very normal car for the most part.

E- really well done video and you deserve more than 400 views. I would suggest doing some shorts that lead to your vids. Your shorts seem to do well but seem to be one offs. Tie them back to your videos, use them as a tease. Also adjust your thumbnails. You’re getting buried in the algo, which happens for a while, but sucks. Your tags as well, right now it’s only mentioning Aston and so it’s primarily getting pushed out or recommended to people who are specifically looking for AM.
You may not care about any of this, just what I noticed from
Someone who has been close to this game for a while. Your vids are pretty damn good.

It's still a relatively new video, just a 2 or 3 days since upload. My POV DB12 video took off after a week or two, sitting at 250K now. But regarding the tags, some suggest not overdoing it and keeping the tags and keywords specific to the article at hand. Otherwise it'll hurt the CTRs? I'm even careful about not mentioning Mercedes as the engine supplier in the description, otherwise the video might come up in a search and get ignored.
As far as thumbnail, what do you suggest for adjustments? The color of the car is a huge issue. I hate reviewing black or white cars. They have no pop at all for thumbs.

You got way too many palm trees but not too sure how far it is from you. Nobody that owns the car would be parking it there. Maybe if you still have access park it in front of a 5-star hotel like a Ritz Carlton or a bougie shopping area near a Rolex or Louis Vuitton store?

That same background got me 230K views on the DBS video. The color of this DB12 is the major issue, the CTRs today have been 8%, which is at the upper level for most content. If you hit 10%+, you're doing better than most. CarWow and some other channels will literally edit bad color cars to something super bright for the sake of the thumbnail.
And the name stays. Alpha is dead.

Accidentally clicked on this thread and thought I would watch the video to help you.
Was really good content, I felt more knowledgable after watching that video.
Didn’t think there was anything wrong with the background. Felt very Top Gear like from when I used to enjoy watching it. I don’t know what you are going for, but Reilo’s suggestions would actually put me off, I like that it didn’t feel like wealth porn.

I appreciate that very much, that's an absolutely massive compliment.
Defender, one of the three brands recently spun off from Land Rover, will launch a high-performance flagship by the end of 2024. The off-roader will be based on the Land Rover Defender 110 but it will receive a powerful twin-turbocharged V8 and numerous chassis updates.why the fuck
The current BMW M3 has a 1" longer wheelbase and same interior volume as a late 1987-1994 7-Series (E32) 🙃 It's also 2" wider and 1.5" taller.
EV tires cost 50% more and have to replaced 20% more often.
Normal tire replacement is every 40,000-50,000 miles. A Tesla requires new tires every 15,000 miles (and it's probably close to 12,000).
Fam...if you have 17 minutes, give it a watch and let me know your thoughts. If you don't have 17 mins, wait until you do, otherwise the lower retention rate hurts the video in the algo.
As before, the rear-drive Taycan and all-wheel-drive Taycan 4S are available with two battery options, both of which are upgraded for 2025. The standard Performance goes up to 89 kilowatt-hours (previously 70), while the optional Performance Plus now crosses the triple-digit threshold at 105 kWh (previously 93). Range estimates were not available for the standard battery, but Porsche claims the rear-drive/Performance Plus combo now travels 35% further for a total of 421 miles when using the optimistic European WLTP testing standard. Eventual EPA estimates should be much lower, but still north of 300 miles. Having more battery cells is certainly a big contributor, but there were many other tweaks, as well.New Taycan is now firmly in the 300 mile range.
Improved thermal management, more efficient motors, improved wheel aerodynamics, and lower rolling resistance tires also come together to add precious range. High-speed brake regeneration has also increased by as much as 30%, according to Porsche. Altogether, that means you'll have a good bit less range anxiety.
When you do need to replenish the battery, you'll be spending less time at a DC fast-charger since the rate has increased from 270 kilowatts to 320 kW. In practical terms, you can get from 10% capacity to 80% in only 18 minutes under ideal conditions, as opposed to the 5-80% in 23 minutes its predecessor required
Yeah, not surprised. The original Taycan was super underrated range-wise and now they've made it more efficient and faster. Big W, probably look at getting one eventually after the kid is out of the house. But EVs aren't a buy proposition just yet and this is yet another case in point.
Saw a cross turismo one when I was picking up the Audi that was just absolutely flat gorgeous.

Buying? Yeah, me too if we're being honest. But hot damn, that's a fine looking automobile and I bet it drives great too.
I would've considered upgrading to a Panamera Sport Turismo, but alas... Maybe hotswap into a GTS Sport Turismo if I ever come across one for a decent price.

It was fun to jump from the GT3RS to the AMG GT Black Series. Both so very similar, yet so very different.

I haven't quite sealed the deal yet but after almost a year of indecision looking at SUVs and other dull cars I have decided to fuck it off and go for for a BMW 330e plug in hybrid.
Its probably not the most practical option with the battery making the boot space smaller and with the length making it a tight squeeze on my drive but the 3 series is automotive heritage and a car I have always wanted rather than an ugly box of boring functional wank. I got a deal that is too good to pass up which will save me a fair bit of money compared to my current A Class once you factor in tax on emissions. Plus I can easily make it to work and back on just the electric engine saving money on fuel and being better for the environment.
I am still unsure what colour to go with but my 4 year old likes Melbourne red so I am probably going to go with that

tbh, i'm still a bit undecided on how much better for the environment electric cars are. the batteries still need to be charged by some kind of power source and what is fueling that power source? i know in some place like West Virginia or Pennsylvania or something, a town was showing off their electric superchargers and exclaiming how good for the environment it was until a reporter asked if the power source was the same for almost everything else in that town: a coal-burning power plant. (it was indeed using that plant)
not to mention how batteries have a shorter effective lifetime than standard ice engines and how it is impossible to recycle and re-use some of their components.

Well I am planning on changing energy supplier to Octopus as they have a discount rate for charging electric vehicles overnight. They claim to use renewable energy sources like wind and solar but I am not sure if its 100%
