A friend is looking at replacing their Mini Cooper in the next several months. What are some alternatives in the same or lower price range ranges that are as fun to drive? The friend says she loves the "go-kart feel" her Cooper S gives her.

Spent $170 for new parts for my oil cooler (new hoses, fittings, thermostatic plate). If this doesn't fix my leaking, I will go fucking nuts.
Or just...go back to stock without an oil cooler and sell the car. LOL. :p

What about a Fiesta ST?

Breh, what did the previous guy do to your car?
By Adam Go To PostBreh, what did the previous guy do to your car?
Idk. I don't think it's related, as it seems a lot of people have leaking issues with their aftermarket coolers.
But I do have to fix the driveshaft seal, differential bushing, and possibly a wheel bearing though. Most of that is wear items, but they aren't cheap fixes. Sooooooo...there's more to go on this car. I was hoping that by now I'd have the intake, pipes, and tune done by now. :'(

I know it well! I've had the itch for a while now to find a Porsche 944 or 968 just to take to club meetings and have fun with but I KNOW how much expense and maintenance that will incur so I am holding off for now.

After owning nothing but cars that were 10+ years old for several years in a row I am extremely happy to have a brand new daily again that I don't have to do anything to except drive and enjoy it. It honestly feels luxurious.

Yikes. This makes my decision to stay stock feel even more validated.

Your newer Z has a factory oil cooler. 370s from 2009 to around mid-2012 models did not.
Testing camera phones...

What a car!
Just drove your car’s cousin, the R8 RWS with full exhaust - extremely impressed. Count me as a rider on the V10 bandwagon.
Please let me know when you’re ready to drive mine.
Thinking of the forthcoming DS 7 Crossback plug-in hybrid as a secondary vehicle (once the government starts implementing incentives on trading in diesels).
What's the verdict?
Everything I've read so far has been overwhelmingly positive. It may appear pricey but when compared to its nearest rivals it's no match. For example, the base price for the Volvo XC60 T8 is $71469 over here. With options you could easily push 100,000+.

I had a Jaguar XE loaner for a week. It was a pretty base spec 4-banger turbo car: RWD, Nav, with halogens! Honestly, the halogen headlight housings make this car look downright cheap up front. Bi-xenon projectors w/LED DRL should be standard. I parked the car facing towards the garage just so neighbors wouldn't see how ugly the front looked hahaha.
That said, holy shit does it handle. The difference between my XF and the XE is the difference between a jet ski and the Titanic. The XF is considered to be one of the sportiest of the mid-size class (the Infiniti Q70 easily being the best handling from my ownership...), but the XE simply felt like a sports car. Every turn of the wheel is so sharp and responsive. It's basically a 4-door F-Type. I've driven the XE 35t/XE-S before, but I wasn't able to take it through any of the winding roads. But man, if I were single and was looking for a fast and sporty sedan, this would be it. No question.
It's biggest draw back is that the rear is fucking cramped. Not quite Lexus IS or previous gen C-Class cramped...but not that far off. They should've cut a few inches out of the decent trunk space and added it the leg room instead. The 3-series and A4 are behemoths compared to the XE, I'll put it that way.
But yeah, I'd spec one with the supercharged 6 and the larger screen. Loved how nimble it was. Really.

Of course, if Porsche does use that magical 4.0-liter, it'll most likely be de-tuned from its current 500 horsepower state. Think somewhere along the lines of low 400s.
Porsche Boxster Spyder has been seen uncovered and it's rumored to have a 4.0L flat six. If they do the same for the Cayman? PHEW. I don't like the Boxster but this thing is sexy.
Auto-SLAENT: pray for me that my Z is fixed once and for all tomorrow? My guy is coming over to my house to work on it this time around, since I don't want to be driving it around with oil leaking. Safety and all.

How did I not know there's a sales tax on used vehicles in California? Wtf. That's some mob shit, double dipping, bullshit.
EDIT: Looks like the cut-off is if the vehicle was manufactured within the last 3 years. Sigh. So, next year I'm probably gonna look at 2016 and older just to save on taxes.

Grrrrrr!!!
Missing 4 fittings that Stillen didn't inform me I'd need. On the plus side, intake is in and working. Old hoses and old sandwich plate by the filter is removed. Once I get these new fittings for the new plate and cooler core, all we have to do is just screw the plate in, plug the hoses in and that's it.
But I have to wait for Stillen to ship the fittings. :'((

By jongkookie Go To PostPicked up an iPhone XS Max the other day and found out it can finally record audio in stereo so here's a quick exhaust vid…That really sounds better than I was expecting. Turbo 4 motors are just difficult in terms of getting them to make a good sound. Your iPhone seems to be doing a good job at capture as well. My office mate just ordered a XS (not the Max) and he is a bit of a photo and video buff so I am sure he will be testing out the camera and mic straightaway.
I need a new exhaust lol.
I have a 2017 iPad Pro. I wonder how decent it is at capturing this kind of sound and video? Might be worth an experiment since I have yet to do any kind of video with my TTRS.

It's really, truly, finally happening, folks. The rotary engine is coming back. And just as the many rumors, patents, and even a Mazda2 prototype suggested, it will return as a range extender for an electric car. The news comes from an official announcement from Mazda itself.rotary back
We won't have long to wait, either, as the rotary-supported EV is slated to go on sale in 2020. It will be one of two electric vehicles available, the other being fully electric. Mazda also mentions that the rotary powertrain is small enough to fit "shared packaging layouts." It's a possibility that these two vehicles are variations on the same model, similar to the Hyundai Ioniq and Honda Clarity.
Looks much better than in the leaked configurator images imo. I think the 4-series should be a looker. Interior looks to be upgraded. I want to see a version with the kidney grill trim blacked out.
The M340i xDrive's turbo inline-six makes 382 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, up significantly over the outgoing model. It can hit 60 mph in an estimated 4.2 seconds.
Despite growing in every dimension, the new model is actually lighter than the outgoing one by as much as 121 pounds.wtf that's faster than the last two generations of M3s 😂
That body style looks older than it should and seems forgettable. Especially from the back. The grill is the only standout to my untrained eye.
Gotta compete with that Model 3 dual motor. Wouldn't be shocked if everybody boosted their HP on midrange models by a lot.
Speaking of which, finally got to ride in one yesterday. Acceleration is pretty damn great and it seems to handle pretty good too. The interior is not what I expect from a $60K car though, not even close. I love the interior dimensions- tons of legroom. But anything that isn't a seat or that huge center tablet is just kinda gross or weird. And even the backs of the front seats are hard plastic on the back. There's also a shocking amount of tire noise in the cabin, probably due to it using low rolling resistance tires and shedding a lot of sound deadening for weight reasons.
In the end it's pretty great to see that it's possible to make an electric car with decent range that feels normal otherwise, but it's still pricey for what it is.

LED lighting is standard, and adapted-for-the-U.S. laser high-beams are available.Wow finally, BMW. I hope other manufacturers take not.
Yeah, it's astounding brands like Merc and Jag still offer halogens on XE, F-Pace, C-Class, GLA, GLC, etc. Pretty awful practice for a luxury brand.
The new 340i will be doing 110-112MPH in the 1/4. Bank on it. That'll be a tenth or two off the E9x Ms. And then come the tunes.

I'm no economist, but it feels like making LEDs standard and ditching halogens/xenons would decrease (development) costs while increasing overall profit. At least in due course.
Yeah I might be legitimately excited about a 3 series again for the first time in a long time. The new interior is a big step up and the fact they made it lighter and more powerful is great.
Really? The new one for 2019? I actually like it quite a bit. It was received pretty well by the press too. But it desperately needs the turbo motor.
By reilo Go To PostThe front is atrocious. It looks like they modeled the grill after the goatse guy.
