By The Frankman Go To PostAre the Cavs even going to get the #1 seed?its not like they need it
By The Frankman Go To PostAre the Cavs even going to get the #1 seed?
No, absolutely not, why would you even ask?
They didn't get it last year, and they somehow decided to help Boston, the team that beat them out for it, in the offseason. Not sure why you think things would be different this year. It's most likely they end up 3rd seed - they're 3.5 games back of Toronto, who have a pretty easy sched the rest of the way after this week.
By knux-future Go To Posthe was listed as a guard on the ballot.I'm aware. I just think it's silly to pigeonhole him into a guard spot, when in reality he's interchangeable as a wing player (2/3).

Seriously Charles got no right to crack on what people wear. I saw what he wore in the 90s. He who cast stones yet lives in glass houses...

FAKE NEWS
By Dude Guy Go To PostI just saw all the all Star voting stuff. How they do my boi ginobili like dat š
Really fascinating to see the divide in fan/player/media love.
Players don't care for Lonzo, Tatum, or Kuzma at all but like Booker. Everyone thinks Oladipo is more deserving than Wall or Beal. Players think Klay is overrated and that Dame is underrated. Texas got to the polls for Manu but not for LMA. D Wade might be the most overrated player in the league.
By diehard Go To Postwait why do players not like Tatum or Kuzma but like Booker?
My guess: they're just not down for voting for rookies.
No problem with that, there's a rookie/sophomore game for that, though NBA has managed to screw up the basic premise of even that one.
Booker is averaging 25ppg, i don't know if him getting more votes from players means he is more well liked.

I think the "like" was just Sho_Nuff's phrasing of how the vote went, I wouldn't read more into it.
By diehard Go To Postwait why do players not like Tatum or Kuzma but like Booker?Booker has been getting love from players since his rookie year, not sure exactly about a comparison between him and rookies but the players recognize what Booker has done so far in his career way more than fans and media. Lebron was calling him a future all star after his rookie year. He is very popular around the league.
Iām not sure why there is surprise that Booker in his third year averaging an efficient 25/4/4 while surrounded by absolute garbage and getting double teamed every night is getting more all star votes than rookies.
edit - basically agreeing with you after reading that chain of comments.
I agree that "Like" or "love" is probably overstating the feeling behind these votes, I was just remarking on the instances where there was a big disconnect between fan/media perception and league perception, and that, among the super young guys (even on bad teams), Booker is getting the most credit for what he's doing.
Towns and Embiid as well, but they are also being recognized by fans.

Bulls are rumored to be moving some combo of Grant, Lopez, and Mirotic: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/basketball/bulls/ct-spt-bulls-zach-lavine-minutes-20180116-story.html
I still maintain that they'll try to talk the Cavs into giving them the Nets pick in exchange for absorbing Thompson and/or Shump.

The Hornets had already made available Nicolas Batum (four years, $100 million), Dwight Howard (two years, $47 million), Marvin Williams (three years, $42 million) and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (three years, $39 million), league sources said, but those players and their contracts are largely unattractive in the marketplace.
Jazz could give up Rubio and the Favors/Johnson expiring deals for Kemba and one of those terrible contracts...but would they? I can't think of many teams that are in a position to take on those deals and actually need a PG.
