By Linius Go To PostI suppose you just didn't see the incident. Or you are just a massive Ocon fan. This wasn't anything like the Max going in without thinking kind of incidents we've seen in the past. Ocon was just being a total idiot on the track and got a 10 second penalty for it. Something that never recovers Max's losses for today sadly. Well at least we won't see Ocon next season.I did see it and don't care about Ocon. Looking at the big picture Max gets in tons of racing incidents. He doesn't know when to back off. He just likes to put people is precarious situations believing they will back off. Tough shit it didn't work this time.
Hammy with one more pole and win on his belt. What a lad 🇬🇧
Way I see it is while Ocon went in for an unnecessary risk , Max's engineer could've alerted him to the fact that Ocon was going for it because you could see it was gonna happen for a while before it actually did.
Max takes a wider line through the corner, laps Ocon again at some point and sails off for the win.

I picked one hell of a race weekend for a nice quiet family weekend :p
Race was quality, difference in tire wear handling between the different teams made better for btter traction and RBRs challenging.Should have been a Max win if Ocon would have used his brain a bit more.
Can see were Lewis with his comment was coming, always on the limit means there is no room for the slightest error and something as what happened today can be voided. Having said that, WTF Ocon. Did he honest believe the RPFI suddenly became the fastest car, because even if he would have passed Max he would have gotten blue flags the next few laps anyway.
Those two have had coming together since their karting days, specially in F3 with Max winning (coming out on top) them and cannot shake the idea that Ocon would have never done anything like he did today if it wassent't for that.
Shame Mercedes has Bottas under contract for next year, Max vs Leclerc vs Ocon would be way more fun ;)

Ocon is 100% at fault and recieved the penalties to back that up.
Meanwhile the focus is shifted on how could have Verstappen avoided a backmarker barging into him instead of focussing on a utterly frustrated Ocon who made the dumbest move in F1 history... a leader got taken out by a backmarker fighting for positions...and failing.
This weekend was more about Red Bull though, letting the world know that they will be a problem with both Ferrari and Mercedes in the future, seems like Hamilton is going to have dubbed trouble in trying to catch Michael's championship record.

Yeah, not sure what to make of Robert racing again. Was one of my favourite 3 back in the day, just hope the coming years do not end up as a nightmare (williams does not help) en put a stain on his previous career.
But as a feel good story, top!!!

From what I remember he never had machinery to compete with tier 1 drivers in F1. I know he was good back then, but is he really fast today? I'm curious if he has the energy to keep up the good lap times for 2 hours in his condition.
Was weird seeing his thumb not grabbing the wheel, but could not see if the rest had a grab of it or not, but far from ideal.
Just to finish of the season, last one, the FORMULA 1 2018 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX. Nothing to race for other than places in Driver Championships were no one really cares about or with some weird results some chances in the constructors Championship. Track is picture book of the modern lay out, tarmac run-offs en double long straight after slow hairpin to aid overtaking and a slower, weirdly of camber, last part. Sun going down during the race and the hotel are probably used as the main attraction, still shame money decides were we end the season, even though it is most of the times already decided before hand.
Mercedes dominated previous years, maybe recent RBR form can make the race interesting if tyre wear plays its part again. Would be a nice goodbye for DannyRic if RBR can at least get his car on the podium, just to see that smile one more time.
For the rest, mainly saying goodbye to a lot of drivers, Alonso/Stoffel/Ericsson/Ocon and some guys driving their last race for a team, DannyRic/Kimi/Sainz/Lance. From this angle that Alonso car does look fine, but on track still :(
And 1st FP results, not to much to say as top teams were all on different tires.

FP2
Don't think RBR is fast enough for pole tomorrow, but they way they handled their Hypers, while being faster in de longrun compared to the struggle of the other two, can see them being in the hunt again come Sunday.
Midfield = Midfield

FP3
As usual Fer/Merc open up their engines and RBR looses to much on power to be close, so they need some help from errors to get better than 5th. Lewis had a very good lap, Bottas the opposite, but he looked good for pole.
Midfield good lap by grosjean that stood out, not so much his slowdown lap, were he blocked Gasly, whom felt the need to make sure Grosjean knew that, damage :P

Alonso does it one more time :p
Gasly engine last corner, means Magnussen gets away with slow pace and an embarrassing out in Q1
Q2
DannyRic just scrapes through (US??) with a couple of thousands ahead of Sainz. Top teams tried the US, only Mercedes and Vettel were quick enough.
Big differences between teammates on this track, also in the midfield were one is in and other out.
Lewis!!
error in his 1st lap but second was good, Bottas always fast around here, just not fast enough to get Lewis. Ferrari second row and DannyRic finish his RBR career with getting one back on Max.
Grosjean and Leclerc best of the Ferrari powered rest
Bad start Max, great one for Charles, using power to get DannyRic.
That is a big one for Hulk, full barrel rolls hopefully all ok.

Kimi :(
early stops to the SS for a lot, because of VSC (kimi car stops)
Love Max making his point with Ocon ;)

And another Ferrari engine gone, Ericsson race over
cannot remember seeing two Ferrari engines go in a single race.

Lewis!!
Totally under control, Vettel benefits from lack of talent on Bottas his side and another podium for Max.
Strange season, was looking epic and questions raised if Hamilton could still win it, before Germany and after that Vettel imploded and season was over. lets hope next season the Honda delivers a bit more power and we can see RBR mixing it with Merc/Fer on more tracks.
Will miss Fernando on track, not off never liked the guy, was definitely one of the better ones. And sad to see Daniel leave RBR, hope for him Renault turns things around, but it isn't looking like a smart career move right now.
