I love games being postponed due to snow...
Also I still believe Ohtani will have an AAAA type of season.

Even if he's just a league average pitcher and a league average hitter he'd be one of the most valuable players in the league?
Iunno, rooting against Ohtani seems like the baseball equivalent of betting on the under or betting against buzzer beaters. You could, but why?

I just think it's admirable that Stanton went 0-5, all strikeouts, in his debut at Yankees Stadium and the crowd booed.
(And the Yankees still won, 11-4, because Didi was Gregorius.)

Stanton just launched a 2-run shot in the first inning. No boos this time.

Sanchez homered earlier, too. If Gardner gets one this afternoon, we'll give it a solid "maybe."

If he was average at both his value would be he gives you an extra roster spot to play with... he has to be really good at one to start talking about one of the most valuable players for a team... His CF is one of those and he doesn't even pitch...
Well I root against him because he isn't on my team lol

Should root for things that are fun and cool imo, especially since the Astros are gonna walk to 120 wins or whatever.

Maybe it's juiced, Adam.
🤔
Must be so since he's only an average player.
He faced a total scrub pitcher too.

It's like extrapolating from Summer League, isn't it?
Exhibit A: Lolzno.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostImagine comparing Ohtani to Trout and using that as a reason that Ohtani isn't valuable. Really?

By Perfect Blue Go To PostImagine comparing Ohtani to Trout and using that as a reason that Ohtani isn't valuable. Really? It's funny that it has to be OMG he one of the most valuable players or he is trash... he could be that after the MLB and he adjust we will just have to see... but I wouldn't crown in that elite tier of player yet
But Adam wants to take Ohtani has to be better than average at one of his two roles as calling him average... guess when you are a Clipper fan you gotta let your nuts hang about anything

Not saying he's Asian Trout, but people were way to down on him for spring when it means diddly squat imo.

Honestly? Not really. His stats in NPB were too good and he has the size and physical tools it looks like.

True.
14. If this goes any longer, I might get called in to pitch. See if I can roll the ball across the plate.
By shun Go To PostI will always rep Ohtani and Darvish no matter what.
My man.
3 straight games he's homered.
Whew.

Wins, allows only 1 hit, 12Ks.
:o
By blackace Go To PostHe was dealing today
It's almost surreal seeing him do that.
The baseball world is watching, too. Ohtani has more home runs than either Kris Bryant or Aaron Judge, more strikeouts than either Chris Sale or Max Scherzer.
Miguel Rojas, the former Dodgers infielder now with the Miami Marlins, hit the Marlins' third home run of the season Sunday.
“At least,” Rojas jokingly said to reporters, “we have as many as Ohtani now.”
😅
ANAHEIM, CA—Frustrated with the level of play he has encountered during his first week of competition in the American major leagues, Japanese baseball phenom Shohei Ohtani told reporters Monday that he’d hoped American players wouldn’t be this bad. “When I decided to leave Japan to sign with the [Los Angeles] Angels, I thought I’d have to push myself to compete at the next level, but this has all been way too easy,” said the 23-year-old after a dominant performance on the mound and the batter’s box, adding that his new peers were hardly a step up from the lowly Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. “At first, I thought the guys were just messing with me, but when I homered three times in three days and took a perfect game into the seventh inning the day after that, well...Turns out I’m just better than everyone else. This honestly wasn’t even worth the money.” Reporters confirmed Ohtani seemed bored and listless throughout the interview, answering questions while tossing 94 mile-per-hour warm-up pitches in the bullpen with his off hand.

Have a feeling this season is just going to be total trash for the Dodgers. I'm sure we'll improve and probably make the playoffs by the end of the season, but there's nothing about this team that instills any confidence. Didn't make any real improvements to the team and half the disposable relievers we've added this season look like garbage. Last few seasons we've had to have a rookie come in and inject something and I don't know that there's that person right now. Best option is maybe someone like a Verdugo but we have so many OFers and hell even Toles is ahead of him (and should be in the majors). Last year was the best chance for the near future and the Yu thing just totally fucked us in the end.
By The Frankman Go To PostYasmany Tomas Is the Most Expensive Minor LeaguerWe have signed our fair share of Cuban duds in the last number of years as well. Hopefully all of these busts drive down the prices some.. that market is absurd.

You might be right. Doyers looks super off and it seems like Kershaw is declining. Odds you guys sign him to massive contract this year?
Anyhow...

I am so happy to see Ohtani succeeding in America.

What about Darvish in Chicago doe?
I will always root for Darvish, and I have been. But it Ohtani's moment right now.
And I am still at awe that he was posted this soon. I never thought he would be in America at least until 2020

Yeah, he gave up millions. Still not sure why.
Happy to have the kid though for sure. A class act and a great player thus far.

Guys like Yu and Tanaka would most likely be way healthier if they came younger.
Good chance he makes Stanton money if he keeps it up
