By Facism Go To PostThe Microsoft store is slow as shit. Use my full connection please, not half of it.
Try the Xbox Beta app instead? Seems a lot better than the Microsoft store to me
My PC started just randomly refusing to produce any audio. Luckily I can still do it through both my monitors, but jesus... it just happened randomly right now while watching football, and a reboot didnt fix it. Going to burn down AMD HQ soon, if my 3900x doesnt arrive soon. Tried ordering it at a new shop now, that promises to send it before friday.
By Facism Go To PostI did not know about that. Positively European when it comes to Xbox.
lol
I just picked whatever I saw first. Does it even make any significant difference? Could still easily trade it for something else.

No, not really. Not unless it’s super shitty.
Everything bought now. I really wanted to go with the crosshair VIII, but there seems to be an endless list of problems with it underperforming (not by a huge margin, but enough to annoy me), and having slow updates (to the point, where i couldnt find any info on if the updates had fixed it yet). Shame cause I always liked Asus mobos. But one time gotta be the first for an Gigabyte motherboard right? Apparently even their bios settings arent a complete mess anymore. Going to keep my 1080TI until next gens of GPU's probably
BeQuiet Dark Base Pro 900 rev 2

I am so ready for Football Manager 20
now next up is buying an ultrawide screen, as my third monitor, to use for browsing internets and playing none competitive shooters on

I recently run someone through Gigabyte's new bios/uefi, helped them set up all the basic stuff. I know tech Jesus had some complaints about it, but it's a perfectly fine UI with most if not all the settings you'll need where you'd expect them to be. People get so precious about this stuff, as if the average PC nerd will spend more than an hour or two in the bios over the lifetime of their mobo. Even with overclocking, unless you're exxxtreme.
700$. RGB tax is the new g-sync tax. No VESA either. Gtfo, Razer.

Sounds like the hack wasn't all that bad?

M8 it is lovely. Not done much gaming over the weekend as I've been sick so can't comment much on that yet but it's been great for watching lovely 4K HDR movies instead. Resolution is a lovely improvement but the colour accuracy and depth is just gorgeous.
Probably my only criticism is the fan.

Report back when you play a HDR game and it blinds you with the 1000 nits lol.
I use my PG27UQ for console HDR gaming and for PC, obviously. It gets super bright. It made me see how folks could possibly choose LED over OLED for HDR gaming.
By Wahabipapangus Go To PostSounds like the hack wasn't all that bad?No, but the way they disclosed it more than a year after the fact and only after being caught red-handed is bound to make a lot of people look elsewhere for VPN services.
Yeah. I have about a year left on them, but tbh, server speeds and such is just bad. Going back to ExpressVPN, despite the price.
Probably one of the best problems to have with a new PC is all the older games you want to play at high refresh/resolution.

It’ll need dusting from occasionally otherwise it’ll get louder over time. Biggest flaw to be honest.

Someone took the bait, looking like I'm shipping my G613 out tomorrow. Ducky One 2 SF estimated time of arrival is 48h. :bless:
Going back to wired feels like a proper side-scension, but it can't be helped until Logitech get their shit together and release a wireless tenkeyless. Though I'm kinda afraid I won't be able to go back to anything less (more) than 65% after switching to one. First keyboard world problems, I guess.
I'm a bit sad at the thought of getting rid of the G613, but it really can't be helped. Boi is just too big.

By Flutter Go To Postplaying on a 144hz monitor is so goodNow imagine playing on a 240hz one.
The smoothness of 240hz is incredible but it’s really not worth playing at 1080p to experience it outside of comp FPS game.
4K/120hz is just incredible all around. HDR is too, but I’m still having a mare getting it working again after getting the other monitor.

I stay "technically" because the brightness level peaks at 400 nits. That's enough to qualify for VESA's entry-level DisplayHDR 400 certification, but for LCD monitors, brightness plays a big role in the quality of HDR content—a monitor with a 1,000 nits peak brightness is going to outshine this display.
Rest easy, my dear Horse.

Probably not really personal computer related but Micron is releasing a AIC SSD that will do 10GB/sec and 2.5M IOPS in most optimal scenarios using second gen 3D XPoint. I just thought it was cool.

By Wahabipapangus Go To Post3900x up and running bois. we 12 core nowHow’s your advertised boost clock holding up?
I booted up windows on my old ssd, but re installing it on a m. 2 now. Haven't really tested anything (or even updated the bios, which actually mostly fixed it according to reviews of my gigabyte mobo). Csgo very cummy though.

I did create that thread for that purpose. Lots of interesting stuff in the IT world. Didn't get much activity tho.
I like having this thread as a mixed bag for anything compuhtah related. Components, keyboards, mice, exotic cooling, general technology news, SFF. Anything goes.
By Laboured Go To PostYes although RGB should have its own thread. Preferably on the dark web somewhere.
Well everything is working well, but my ram is absolutely refusing to move past 2133mhz. XMP enabled of course but... nothing.
Edit: alright finally got it to 3200mhz, but cant get it to 3600mhz. Well whatever I guess.

Yes but importantly I regularly tell it to hide its shame.
