By /sy Go To PostAre these Claire and Leon scenarios supposed to be happening in the same universe? Because it doesn't really make sense.Yes and you're right, it doesn't make alot of sense.
Almost done with Claire (2nd run). I do wish we got more interactions between her and Leon.

I love how Frankman is describing the ingredients of the Burger.
By Laboured Go To PostThe most important mod.
By Pennywise Go To PostI love how Frankman is describing the ingredients of the Burger. You can't get anymore AMURIKA than egg and bacon in your burger. Actually, bacon in anything.
I don't know why this game has me shook. I'm unfamiliar with the new engine but the thing that is effing me up (besides the difficulty) is my recollection of RE2 compared to this game; I keep expecting layouts and enemies that don't exist. I also can't pull off my zombie avoidance strat (baiting the lunge animation) because I did most of the vid at Caution; one bite and I'm dead.
By Laboured Go To PostI am 48 seconds into The Frankman's video and I may have already fallen in love.
So I'm playing and I finally make it to the 2nd Floor East Waiting Room and Art Room, went downstairs (Good Lord at the cutscene with Leon and Claire, the thirst was ridiculous). Found the Cutting Tool and the backtracking... oh the backtracking. I don't mind it but Capcom has been trying to kill that part of the game since RE3; funny that the devs did nothing to limit it. So I'm finally got a lot of key items due to finding the right file/cutting locks/etc. and I headed to the STARS Office, which I know is full of good stuff. I opened the door to a darkened hall and immediately I was confused... why was the rain blowing in the place? In RE2 not only is the place lit but there are no broken windows in that area. Add to that there were a lot of dead bodies around (in RE2 zombies are in the next hallway, not that one) so I looedk around a bit for the broken window to at least board it up...
Let's just say it was a good thing I looked for the broken window.

By /sy Go To PostFinished Claire B. wtf is this ending lol, went full michael bay
claire literally going from "must survive" to basically a super soldier within an hour is pretty lul
and then code veronica opens like this, taking place 3 months later:
by comparison Leon becoming a gawd by RE4 makes sense
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postclaire literally going from "must survive" to basically a super soldier within an hour is pretty lultbf the feeling in RE2 back then was Claire had some experience with firearms and was much tougher than she is presented in RE2 REmake. It was juxtaposed wonderfully by showing her caring side when dealing with Sherry and the lengths she went to protect her; of course the main objectives were to find her brother (which she found out about him rather early in the game) and survive.
by comparison Leon becoming a gawd by RE4 makes sense
Here, she dresses more "girly", doesn't give the same tomboyish feel and the writing for her is GODAWFUL early in the game. Girl is literally hitting on Leon while a horde of zombies march towards her, wtf? The VAing for her is not terrible but her dialogue makes it worse, although it's not the worst offender (Ada Wong) of that.
It's really jarring to see how off I am in this game. The fact that I don't really practice in this game (bs around to get used to movement/camera) doesn't help.
Spoiler: Birkin kicks my ass twice.

Yea, I haven't played in a while, so I started a run on standard to get back in the swing of things. I forgot just how many resources they give you, on this difficultly level. Lol. Hit the sewers in about 55 mins. I can definitely cut that shorter. Kinda forgot the route.
Beat the game on Claire A first, now going through Leon A (both on hardcore). Man this game is so good, only real complaints I have are the side character playable segments.
still playing this and it's annoying how well CapCom doe throwbacks to RE2 in some areas and botches it in others. In the outside Boiler Room area in RE2 loads a cutscene that is the only location where zombies attack in the door opening animation. They hark back to that by having the 2 zombies bust the door when you get close, plus they have the same models as the two from RE2 (female red T-shirt zombie with cropped hair, beige ratty shirted male zombie). It's really awesome.
So I got to the Lab the other day and saw a female zombie eating another guy's ass
...
I didn't even know how to approach this.

RE3 infos:
-Nemesis will use an improved version of the AI developed for the Tyrant of Resident Evil 2 Remake.
-Sound will be very important in a city like Raccoon City, you will have to rely on it to anticipate dangers lying in wait around the corner.
-Confirmation that we will visit the streets, the shops, the Stagla petrol station, the Raccoon Press offices, the hospital. Not open world, but far more open then the original title.
-Nemesis was created in real life to be able to be scanned via photogrammetry.
-Mercenaries mode will not return at launch, replaced by Project Resistance.
-The mutant worms are back.
-Carlos will be playable.
-There will not be the action choice mechanism as in the original, which could give different sequences of the game afterwards or an advantage over a danger.
-There will also be no more endings.

Wut
Rest of that sounds very good
By Freewheelin Go To PostWutThey make pictures of real life things and use that via their engine to get it into the game. That's how it was done in RE7, RE2 and Remake 3.
Rest of that sounds very good
So they build a huge Nemesis and scanned/photographed him.
they created an actual biological weapon that chased the dev team for a couple of weeks to get the feel of re3
So I'm guessing I have to make an RE3 Remake thread or people will spam RE3 info in this one. Fine, will start now and finish by the weekend.
By EldritchTrapStar Go To PostMy bias aside, that video couldn't be further off the mark.
By Xpike Go To Postits nonsense made for youtube clicks because being negative is the easiest wayHe's incorrect in a few aspects but he is right in others. For anyone who player OG RE2, you can feel the differences in the game that go deeper than graphics. The same apprehensive feeling isn't there and they had to change Mr. X in order to bring a different type of feeling. Is it "fear"? Probably not, but it's something and it's notable to me the Mikami comment resonates more with original RE2 than the remake. You will find very few classic RE fans who feel the Remake is better than than the original; for some reason it seems even messier and it's stunning considering how awesome the RE1 remake was.
