By Vini.lad Go To PostVSC will put Ham in the lead nowFerari did more on heavier car, so dont think it will be issue
but he would need a lot of laps on softs
By KP Go To PostBeen a while since a safety car handed lewis a race.Restarts and Ferrari power
boring race just got little bit more interesting.
Race sums up season, when Ferrari run in to problems, Lewis is there to put the knife in. Qualifying is Ferrari territory, race pace Lewis still top, should be fun remaining races. Some nice talking points, before we go to Suzuka.
RBR lacking bit of pace, although hard to tell what the difference was between softs/mediums,Albon doing what he needs to do, even if helped by SC.
McLaren finish off a strong weekend and increase the gap to Renault, whom again fail in race execution.
Now of to see how bad British weather is in Yorkshire #GOMATHIEU

By Spengo Go To PostDid Ferrari hit the kill switch on Sebs car? Serious question.did Seb hit the kill switch?
but no, they had what they wanted 1-2 and data to the car is a one way street, so not even possible.
Saw that one on Friday, F1 cafe :P
next year?

This is why Toto Wolff is a better team principal. Binotto was lying through his teeth in the weekend.
Podium or seppuku for Honda.
Wish we could have a race at Fuji Speed Way but I'm pretty sure it is now owned by Toyota. It's probably my second favorite circuit in Japan after Motegi.
This weekend we race, hopefully, in Suzuka Japan, one of my favorite tracks on the calendar.
From the mega fast 1st corner in to the S-ses, the degners and the Spoon curve, shame 130 R is easy flat-out these days. So should be Mercedes territory and Max trying to keep them honest, but there is still a large part of the track, from hairpin to Spoon to the chicane and the run in to the 1 st corner, that heavy reliant on power, so do not count out Ferrari. And if there recent "downforce" improvement also works on a track were you need a mega compliant front end, they might be the team to beat again.
All depends however on the weather and with Typhoon Hagebis hitting Japan, we might be looking at heavy rain/wind and even a wash-out on Saturday, Sunday still looks windy but dry, so we could have Q sessions and the race on the same day.

Earlier today FP's results
Strange sessions as, due the cancellation of FP3, some teams were using the extra sets of tires and others did not. Mercedes looked extremely good from the get go, fast and relatively able to look after their tires. Max/Ferrari look few tenths behind, but above all in the long runs loose more and on top of it their tires fall of quicker. (might be even 2 stop race?) So if nothing chances on Sunday and it is dry I can only see Mercedes not winning if someone else picks up the pole or lead lap 1.
Midfield similar different running (use of tires), but would say that in the long runs McLaren (sainz) looked good.
To slow last sector Lewis in warm-up lap.
Fastest lap Valteri:

And if you ever wondered how teams spends million of dollars on a car
engineering in f1 never stops to amaze me.
engineering in f1 never stops to amaze me.
That's why a works team never has to worry about stiff competition coming from the midfield.
By markao Go To Postengineering in f1 never stops to amaze me.It's bonkers seeing all the nuts and bolts attached and exposed.
I’m going to watch the Fellowship of the Weed on Netflix which has a run time of three hours, just in time for quali.
If I were Williams I would say fuck it. What's the point of rushing the rebuild for a car that will just end last anyway.
