Mad Max: Fury Road Reactions

Making this so I can spazz out drunk with my spoilers
It's so good that it transcends merely being the best action movie of the year, it's just the best movie this year. I love how little dialog there is, how they let Theron and Hardy just act with glances, with their faces. It's wonderful. What a fucking movie.
By ViewtifulJC Go To PostBest sci-fi action movie since T2 tbh
Hands down the best.
visually impressive
well acted
barebone story
kept me on the edge of my seat more than any movie in a while.

It's basically what I felt about the last 20 minutes of Avatar, but extend that to a full fledged movie that's 2 hours.
Would've enjoyed it even more if I didn't drink soda and had to resist the urge to pee for the last 40 minutes

Greatest femnist film of all time, take your daughters, take your girlfiends, take your wives. Women taking charge. Yaaaaaassss

watched it yesterday, thought it was ok. Loved the world building and the fact that such a film has even been made, but didn't love the whole film and would not recommend it to many people. It took me a long time to get into the right frame of mind to enjoy it. Guitar guy helped.
I really didn't expect it to be THIS good, the cinematography blew my fucking mind, everything and everyone was so beautiful
I was so engrossed in the atmosphere that I genuinely felt tired after it ended lol
what's with the feminists complaints? Because of Charlize Theron? What about Sarah Connor in T2 then? People need to fuck off seriously

By Apollo Go To PostI have a friend that simply can't understand why people are saying this is feminist.
Its basically a chick action movie. That in itself makes it feminist to some people.

I dont give two shits who did most of the action

It's Furiosa's story, she's saving the brides, she does most of the action and this is obviously an assault on masculinity. Whatever, I loved it. One of the best bits is when Max has to give her the rifle because he can't hit the spotlight off the car. So good.

Max had his fair share of badass moments. He wiped out an entire gang in the fog ffs lool
and was jumping from car to car fucking their shit up the whole time
but yeah, it was her story more than Max's. I think the director was just trying something new with the story. I don't think would have liked it as much if it was a straight up reboot or another origin story for Max

Miller doesn't show you Max taking out the bullet farm, though. The camera stays with Furiosa and there's just an explosion in the background. But it's not like he's just a bystander, like I've seen intimated on the internet. It's his plan to take the citadel, he's important to the big fight at the end, he saves Furiosa with a blood transfusion. The movie is definitely her story, though. And that's okay, because it's still rad as hell in the end.
Mad Max as a character is a guy that just happens to join the story at the right moment and helps lead people to salvation.

That was alright in my books. I was thinking "this is pretty decent" up to the bit where they're about to go over the salt plains on bikes. Then they charge back to the Citadel and Miller proceeded to decimate every other film-maker's attempt at a car chase scene for the next 2 decades.

but man, i gotta say the canyon scene was what did it for me. that music choice
wow
and those stunts were some of the craziest i've ever seen. i don't even know how they pulled off bit where the guy caught the flare in the chest or when dude ran his bike underneath the rig
just fucking amazing all around. the delivery on some of the lines are gonna stick with me forever. Ricktis especially. I HAD A BABY BROTHER. I HAD A LITTLE BABY BROTHER. AND HE WAS PERFECT IN EVERY WAY.
i might see this for a third time but i need to save myself for the director's cut and extended edition
I love how the movie was so single-mindedly dedicated to its own logic/insanity. So many details showing (but not always telling) how the different castes work. The internal logics of different societies that drives them all. And it all compiles in to one big mental fucking chase. Which on all the terms the movie presents is the only logical outcome.

Yeah, I liked this too. They say just enough and still you get how it works. Same goes for saying terms such as War Pups, small thing but you know they mean the little kids even though you only saw them in the beginning and end of the movie.
Loved the movie, the action is insane. And I don't get people who get riled up because it's a movie with a feminist tone. Who gives a shit who does badass stuff in this movie. Furiousa was great as an action heroine.
