Your favourite forgotten videogame series
- Page 1 of 1
As the title says. Some mascots are dead as fuck but people keep remembering their days, while some are dead and lie more silent than others. What are your favourites?
The first always coming to mi mind is Mystical Ninja, also because fuck Konami.
They're probably using this IP for pachinkos, the last proper videogame they released was (to my knowledge) a japanese only DS game.

fighting vipers. that was an arcade jam for me. i kinda wish sega would make a fighting vipers 3 and fighters megamix 3, but im careful of what i wish for.
Man Onimusha my shit, beat the first game in one play through (had no memory card lol)
Xenosaga, Monster Rancher, Alundra and Colony Wars are more games that pop up.

I still have a save game with my absurdly powerful Zuum on its deathbed. I couldn't let go. It's such a shame it's basically dead, living only as some MMO thing.

There's a couple of series that I have an undying affection for that are assuredly dead and it kills me (though there were games in them last generation).
EA will never make another Burnout, and even if they did, who would even make it? Criterion is dead. We're so much worse off as a people with no sequel to Paradise ever happening.
Red Alert. Another EA series. God damn. I didn't think much of Red Alert 3. Just story-wise, it was too into itself and trying to wink at the camera too much. Red Alert 2 is fun because Ray Wise is playing it straight, you fools. I kinda consider those first two games the pinnacle of the RTS genre, they're pretty wonderful, so it's a shame they'll never dig Command and Conquer up again.

Socom for me. Great online shooter and an underrated campaign, that at the time, made great use of the headset for a singleplayer experience.
The recently released spiritual successor, the Kickstarted H-Hour, looks complete ass even for a $25 beta.

Black and white.
What games, even if was disappointing I did love them both. So much fun was had messing about with your villagers and being a cunt. Even better when you managed to get your creature to poop in their food supply and such.
If you count tje movies as a series then that too.

I can't even think of a series to be honest. The closest is The Guardian Legend. I know it's connected to the whole Zaxxan series (I think?)
