Jeremy Clarkson suspended by BBC
If you were looking forward to watching the latest episode of Top Gear this Sunday, we're afraid we've got some bad news.
Apparently the episode won't air next week after Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended by the BBC. According to the statement below released by the company, Clarkson "has been suspended pending an investigation" related to a "fracas with a BBC producer."

Laaaameee.
BBC never cease to amaze me!
probably punched a guy and then they negotiated with him to suspend him for a week just for PR purposes.
I get the feeling there was a 3 hour long meeting that lead to the use of the word 'fracas' in that press release.
By AlphaSnacksThe whole season is now on hiatus. That escalated quickly.
WTF happened? Like I said, for all the things he have done, he must have done a fuck up, to get this sort of punishment.

Which leads me to pray that Channel 5 hires him and reunites him with Tiff. :)
By reiloI never buy the "told a friend such and such" rumors. I think they'll figure it out.Neither
The top gear brand is worth too much for all his side projects, and the BBC own the "top gear" name in the UK I believe. He's not a young man anymore, building up another brand would take the rest of his working life, and even then.........
But it's also the BBC's most popular show by a long way. So.......
The BBC is expected to scrap the remainder of the current Top Gear TV series after allegations that presenter Jeremy Clarkson punched a producer.

Wait, hiatus or scrapped completely?
By reiloIsn't "series" the English term for "season"?The BBC is expected to scrap the remainder of the current Top Gear TV series after allegations that presenter Jeremy Clarkson punched a producer.

Doesn't sound permanent if that's the case.

Yes, they mean the season.
But that was downplayed a lot more recently as it looks like he'll largely get cleared by the ethics committee / board.
Though so much of this is pure rumour / speculation / gossip it's really hard to tell.
I'll do one last lap of Top Gear track before f****** b******* sack me

End of an era. Too bad the last season couldn't end with that reported LaFerrari vs Porsche 918 vs McLaren P1 face off.
By Vlatko Go To PostSeems like he is getting fired.
Wonder if they'll replace him or they all move on to another show.
I suspect that it'll continue. It makes too much money for them not to at least try to soldier on.
Clarkson might do a show for Netflix, apparently, and that would be rad.
BBC are in a weird spot. May and Hammond do a lot of other shows on the BBC, not just Top Gear and have done so for a long time. Clarkson is on the panel for one other show, but that's about it.
May and Hammond declined a significant pay increase to finish the season without Clarkson. They said it's all of us or none.
Whether that will apply to future seasons or they're just standing tough for this one, who knows.
Not sure if the BBC have anything to do with US Top Gear other than licensing, but he should just go stateside. What could go wrong?
By Shanks D Zoro Go To Post I would be ok if the show got cancelled. I still enjoy it, but find themselves to just be caricatures of themselves at this point.
Agreed.

It's run by BBC America. Same parent company.
