Star Wars : The Rise Of Skywalker "Spoilers" - Show me on the Droid where Rian hurt you.

This is a bad movie. It completely shits all over The Last Jedi and is full of little jabs at Rian Johnson, it gets quite ridiculous at times.
So much thing happens on the first half, you could do like 2 movies with all that story.
Let's go over the big spoilers, starting with Rey's origins. She is fucking Palpatine's granddaughter, this shit makes no sense at all. It feels like it came out of nowhere and they only made it to be a shocking reveal.
The 2nd half is full of so many fan service bullshit moments. We get ghost Han Solo, ghost Luke Skywalker and voice clips of Yoda, Mace Windu and Qui-Gon Jinn. It was just ridiculous and it felt empty.
The final fight was terrible, not much happened between Rey and Palpatine. Rey dies after killing Palpatine, Ben Solo resurrects Rey, they kiss (which lead to the loudest groan I ever heard in a theater) and Ben dies, the whole theater started laughing after that.
I hated what they did to Rose. She barely appears in the movie and she doesn't have that energy, that will that she had on The Last Jedi. She pretty much only exists to be a soundboard to Leia, nothing more.

Rey being nobody could have been so important for this blockbuster series. That you dont need to be a Skywalker to be somebody. That it's ok, that your parents are nobodies, or shitheads, and you can do much better than the place of society you are given.
Actually pretty mad about this, because it's the one message I want imparted to my nephews and future children. The movie can be absolutely shittier, but as long as they kept that, I would just grumbled about it.

Maybe it's just me but I got the vibe that as soon as two black characters interacted with each other, the movie felt like it would drop the bombshell that the two would be related at any moment ( black horse chick from endor & Finn and/or Lando).

This is going to be another movie that further proves my idea that when an idea can only be referred to as ‘fun’ it’s a terrible...terrible movie.
For the record I don’t think it was fun btw, it was despite it’s ridiculous pace rather dull. Dialogue was terrible, action was....fine? Story was horrific.

The movie does the "oh, this character died...nope, she is actually alive" thing 4 fucking times, 5 if you count with C3PO losing his memory and then getting it back.
There were at least 3 times where they went "the heroes are travelling safe...oh no, they are being tracked".

Who the fuck is this movie for? I thought TLJ was bad enough for going down a path that wasn't warranted based on the previous movie. And then we get this one. The worst example of an franchise overcorrection I could ever think of. So many STUPID ideas and moments. Every Leia scene is awkward as fuck.

you can make things up as you go along if you have a competent team behind it, see: breaking bad, the mcu, the shield, etc

I was already annoyed with the fact that they showed a full 30 minutes of previews -- including a damn Pixel 4 commercial inbetween the actual trailers -- but this movie was a meas.
While entertaining in spurts, JJ clearly forgot to take this ADHD meds before he wrote, directed, and edited this one. The entire first act was just one rushed setup to introduce one maguffin device after another with no real consequences or thought put into what the hell anyone is doing. The dialog was awful as everyone was just re-shouting the same things over and over as quickly as possible to just get to the next action setpiece.
Rey as a Palpatinereveal was so hilarious and clearly stolen from a coked out bender while reading a reddit fan theory.
Also, how convenient that all the new star destroyers had their phallic cannons exposed for quick destruction.

My biggest problem is probably how actively the movie is trying to clap back against TLJ. The way it spends so much time undoing events from that movie and has scenes like Luke grabbing the lightsaber from the fire. I couldn't roll my eyes hard enough. It panders to the worst parts of Star Wars fandom.
