By Zabojnik Go To PostEveryone who read the books knew it wasn't going to be a crowd pleaser.I'd be shocked if they don't already have considering they probably filmed most stuff and only miss post production.
I'd be shocked if they greenlit the second film.
If it's really not greenlit already, Denis Villeneuve has some major balls considering the movie opens with the title card Dune: Part One.
Saw the movie this weekend and it was exactly what I expected. A very polished adaptation of a mediocre book / turd. Adaquate performances, visually unique and pleasing or intentionally unpleasant, cold, sterile. But the movie just as the book did telegraphs every next step it takes. I personally was bored watching another white saviour story and thought it moved at snails pace, but I admit I knew the story I was watching.
Still, it's big budget Sci-fi and if you want more of that give it a chance. It's not terrible.
Revolutions first 45 is super trash shit. The machine attack on Zion is great though. Will report back for rest l8er
Yeah some mad train shit and some Indian girl and too much shit of people talking about plans
Shit comes to life when this Bane dude wakes up

Did my cockney accent as well at the audition.
Just watched Gomorrah, excellent crime thriller. Recommend for anyone that likes gritty, realistic films.
By s y Go To PostSaw it last week and it's brilliant. Oslo, August 31st a bit better but that film is an all-timer.

I am very sorry, Apollo
Unless the comedy gets dark, I'm not really in the mood for a bittersweet coming of age story about daddy issues. It looks good though.
My favourite Shakespeare play, starring two of America’s greatest screen actors and directed by a Coen with gorgeous chiarascuro lighting? Sign me the fuck up lads.
Denzel too good for Macbeth. Bitch is a thug. Big D too damn charming

By Laboured Go To PostFingers crossed for Denzel doing a Scotch accent m8.
By FortuneFaded Go To PostHow come Joel Coen doesn't get the same jokes aimed at Tim Burton for always casting his wife?
Isn’t the criticism more than Burton always makes the same film and therefore HBC often plays the same role?

Netflix has bought the rights to Roald Dahl's classic children's books from the author's family.
The deal means the streaming giant will own creations like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The BFG.
Netflix will control what happens to them in publishing as well as TV and film - and receive the royalties.
It will also create numerous spin-off games, stage shows and other live experiences. Neither side would reveal how much the deal is worth.
Right so I watched Matrix Reloaded. Honestly, it was enjoyable and like the first film all I could think about was how better directed it was compared to most modern action films/comic book movies. (And also, some action movies from the early 00s rank as some of the worst directed films I've seen)
The fight with 100 Hugo Weaverings was funny because of the very creaky special effects which gave it some charm and had a great gag with a bowling strike sound effect.
When the Architect is explaining the Matrix at the end of the film, it reminded me a lot of Raiden's situation at the end of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.
I wonder do I have free will? I probably should've done the readings at some point during my degree. I could've figured the whole thing out if I had put my mind to it. Or could I have??

I fucking despise that bowling strike sound effect bit. Genuine hatred. It pisses all over a fun scene and takes me out of the moment every time.

The film has two cyber-ghost twins with dreadlocks and you're concerned with being taken out of the film. smh
Fuckin bit of verfremdungseffekt never hurt anyone. I mean, take the red pill, bro. 😎

It seems well directed because the action is kept in frame and it doesn't use Paul greengrass disorienting quick cuts.
Plus the actors actually learned to fight.

Watching Shutter Island for the first time and it's pretty good, except for the woman I'm with trying to guess every 5 minutes what's going to happen in the end.
I remember going to see Scream 4 with some girl and every 20 minutes she would go down the list of possible killers. Down near the climax she had mentioned damn near everyone in the film except for Julia Roberts niece, the one character with the flimsiest but thoroughly telegraphed alibi, so I told her then it must be her, but she wasn't convinced.
It turned out it was her and my date was like "yep, totally called it" after being wrong a dozen times. Never went to the movies with her again.
