Yes, Nintendo is finally going to show all (or many) of their cards regarding the Switch. Price, launch date, games, it'll all be here. The event will be broadcast from Japan, hence the crazy times for the West:

Some of the many, many random rumours associated with this thing so far:

  • Release date will be March 17th.
  • Zelda will be at launch
  • Zelda won't be at launch
  • New 3D Mario will be at launch
  • 3 hour battery life.
  • 5-6 hour battery life.
  • There is a Mario/Rabbids rpg co-developed with Ubisoft that's been finished for a year, and is ready to go.
  • Will cost $249
  • Will cost $299
  • Will have two SKUs, pro/elite/deluxe model will have Splatoon port pack-in.
  • Power is not quite Xbone.
  • Power is two Wii Us duct taped together.
  • Games run the same in dock or portable mode.
  • Games have more power in docked mode.
  • Pikmin 4 has been finished for a year and is ready to go.
  • Ports of Smash, Mario Maker, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Splatoon, Mario Kart 8 and possibly Bayonetta are all coming.
  • FF VII Remake?
  • Does not support external USB drives.
  • Right Joycon can be used like Wii mote.
  • Has touch screen for menus & drawing, but not used in gameplay.

  • It's getting a pumped up version of Pokemon Sun & Moon

  • Skyrim remastered is getting a port.
  • NBA 2K seems to be a lock.
  • Dragon Quest XI is coming.
  • EA will have two games from "their bigger franchises" - so FIFA & probably Madden.
  • Mario Kart 8 is getting a port with new characters & tracks.
  • Spanish indie Wind Waker clone Rime is back from the dead and coming to the system.
  • Screen size is 6.2"
  • Has a share button
  • Takes regular SD cards
  • Uses carts, not discs
  • Is total Smokey troll bait
