It is certainly a bit odd at least that apparently this investigation didn’t start with a victim coming forward, instead it was a fishing expedition and those don’t happen from thin air.
No I’m not insinuating the accusations are false, grow up. Just find it interesting how journos decide which stories to pursue, but I’m not aware of how popular he is. Reading now and he became a spiritual guru? Lol

It's been known about on the comedy circuit for a long time, and I suppose journalism can help where the police rarely ever do. Victims were scared to come forward due to threats of litigation, without the anonymity, and protection from these major media outlets.
wait, this whole thing about comedy is weird to me
this brand dude is a comedian? I always thought he was like some sort of failed wannabe rockstar that didn't shower,

No, a comedian. That was just his schtick.
By data Go To PostHe's British bam margeraNot really. He was mainly a stand up.
My mum had a little side hustle back in the day doing like tarot card readings etc and she got a call from him asking if she could do something for one of his shows. She said no because she assumed he was just going to take the piss. Probably for the best.
New this Manchester girl when I first move to Korea in 2010, she was so proud of the fact that Brand cam on her sister’s chest after a gig he did.

Seeing "innocent till proven guilty" spammed everywhere. By that metric Savile is innocent too fellas.
It's the most stupid argument. As far as I'm concerned you're guilty of a crime as soon as you commit it. How do you know he did it? I don't, but those women do, they were there, and I believe them.
But..there has to be proof you did it….?
People lie. It doesn’t make you a piece of shit to say “I should wait for the facts”

Free "fuck a dude's life forever" cards being given out. Some evidence would be nice to have, you can't believe every claim out there.
General sense, not talking about any specific case.

There won't be any facts, It's been too long, it will be their word against his. It's not just one woman though, it's multiple.
I can't believe some people think so low of the average woman. They're not out here trying to ruin men's lives. Their lives have been ruined if anything.
Conviction rate on rape cases is so embarrassingly low, and it'll never change with this attitude. The one in probably thousands that are a false accusation shouldn't cloud what is a very real, far too common occurrence.
"It was consensual" "No it wasn't"
That's all it'll ever come down to in all but the most violent of assaults

I think it's fine to say ______ is a piece of shit and I believe her, while also acknowledging that simply believing women is also not enough to put someone behind bars. The court of public opinion is the best those accused are likely to face....unless they're pro athletes. In which case the white men in charge will find a way to use them to continue to make money.

I'm not saying to lock him up for 50 years without doing your due diligence. But he is not innocent until proven guilty in my eyes and for that to be a lot of people's first comment on it is showing their arse, and speaks to a deeper issue.
"______ raped me"
"Welp, innocent until proven guilty innit"
It's just bizarre. And quite frankly, fuck off.

Most sexual assaults will never be reported to the police for a myriad of reasons especially if the perp can intimidate their victim into silence.
Men are more likely to be sexually assaulted than falsely accused.

Innocent until proven guilty is for the courts. It’s ludicrous to assume that should cross over into people’s opinions or feelings.

According to the report, Ballard invited female staff and volunteers to accompany him on overseas missions playing the role of his wife, then would coerce them into sharing his bed or showering together by telling them it was necessary to fool traffickers.🤔
Vice said it had spoken with many of the women. One, it said, received photographs of Ballard in only his underwear, showing off a number of fake tattoos; another was asked “how far she was willing to go” to save enslaved children.
I think all cases should be taken seriously but as a black man it is hard to forgot the Carolyn Bryant Donhams, and Alice Sebolds of the world.
Do I believe it is super likely that some rich douche tried to leverage his position to rape or sexual assault women? For sure.
However, you see so many cases of normal none rich black men getting out of prison after decades because DNA or whatever proved they were falsely accused... so it happens

Perhaps this is trite, but I consider the idea of believing women (or whomever) to mean that you should have empathy and take their experience seriously, instead of relegating the validity of their pain to the mercy of our courts.
I'm not going to believe all anything but sometimes its obvious
Dont care what the court says either didnt that Morty guy get away with it we know what kinda game they play there
We also had so many cases were certified cunts like Neymar and Depp were falsely accused. Russel's defense was WITCH HUNT lmao

I was chuckling at how quick the narrative jumped from Brand obviously trying to get out in front of an investigation these past few years to all this other mobjusticevalidatesme shit 😂 don't even need to go back two pages in here to see stuff going left

Think believing women originates from a generalized problem regarding sexual crimes reported that wouldn’t be properly investigated by the police. It evolved into this instant sentence by jury judge executioner media/social media mob, but I’ll leave it to history to pin point where that started.
It’s up to each one to decide what it means to them.
