Last bunch of posts have made me pine for this thread's glory days when all we discussed was the hot new things on the RGB scene.
Nvidia: Price increase of graphics cards probably until Q3 2018

great

As justification for the current situation, the company gave two reasons. First, the lack of memory for video cards continues to be a major problem, especially since Samsung and Apple for an above-average price decrease. This is too high for the graphics card manufacturers such as MSI , Asus or EVGA. As a result, the pavers produce mainly for smartphones .
In addition, mining continues to be a big factor: demand is and remains too high, so nearly every available card is purchased directly for this purpose. To make the production so high that the purchase request of the miners can be satisfied is not possible due to the lack of memory chips.
great
yuck
well, i guess i can let some friends who were planning on a build soon-ish know about when to check in on sensible GPU prices again
e: also, can you link the article where that came from?

thought i put it in. have to google translate.
I really don't understand why companies don't take after Logitech and how they do their RGB lighting. It just looks better, imo. I wonder if it's more expensive to go that route though.
^ The company that made that split keyboard I bought is making an RGB version of it for later this year. I wonder how they will handle the RGB on that. What makes the Logitech implementation of it special again? I'm pretty sure you explained it before but I forgot.

The logitech light bulb is in the middle of each key, whereas everybody else seems to be at a location that causes what appears to be "light bleed" around the keys. You can see it in the still image of the YT video in my post.

Here's the g810 for comparison
Logitech method is much "cleaner" and looks better (imo)
Logitech uses their own Romer-G switches vs Cherry, so I wonder if that has something to do with the ability to place the bulb in that location. Nobody else does it like this, and idk why.

I am pretty sure that is the case yes, if you look at Cherry switches it's forced to sit to the side. I agree it looks better, but man, I can't go back to romer-g feel over cherry anymore.
Can someone recommend me a good Mouse + Keyboard combo?
Preferably under 150€.

What didn't you like about them? To me they are comparable to Cherry Browns in sound, but provide more feedback. I'm used to them at this point having used the G810 for a while, and now on the wireless G613.

Primarily gaming - linear switches: not tactile or clicky; cherry mx reds
Primarily typing - tactile and clicky ; cherry mx blues and blacks
Even mixture of both - tactile but not clicky; cherry mx browns

I like the Roccat but I think it's just a tad to small? Sometimes get a cramp after a long gaming session.
Keyboard was great but it's 5 years old now, starting to get wear and tear.
I do like the look of those Zowie's and don't need to many functions.

So just get whichever feels the most comfortable to you.

I'm currently a fan of the Kinesis Freestyle Edge keyboard. It's a wired and split keyboard. There is a picture I posted of it earlier in this thread. Here is a review of it: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/kinesis-gaming-freestyle-edge-keyboard,news-57389.html
Great feel and potential for ergonomics (especially if you get the lift kit to go with it), excellent programmability and quick layout switches. It can support a total of 18 different layouts with most of them being easy and quick to switch to. Like the Zowie mice, there is no software to install. Most functions can be done on the keyboard itself while a few advanced things can be done through a program that is run off a virtual drive built into the keyboard.
Smokey loves his Logitech keyboards with the Romer-G switches. They are also probably cheaper than my preference. I do not have experience with them, but Logitech is usually great value for the money.

I wish I knew that existed before I got a K65. Looks the perfect board for me.
A previous recommendation of mine would have been the plain Razer BlackWidow when it used to cost like $75 USD. I don't know how the multiple recent revisions stack up.
By HottestVapes Go To PostI wish I knew that existed before I got a K65. Looks the perfect board for me.When did you get the K65? The Freestyle Edge came out for public purchase maybe four months ago. It also appears to be far more expensive than the K65. I backed the Kickstarter for this one so am probably biased for it, but it is one of my favorite keyboards and absolutely my favorite for gaming.
e: also, they are planning to do a new version of it at the end of this year with full RGB and maybe some other features, iirc

I wouldn’t even mind paying the extra £100 or whatever it’d be. The split design for gaming would be absolutely perfect for me.
Hmmm... I might order some of these replacement keycaps for wasd. They are rubberized, which would make it a bit easier to feel that I'm on the correct keys when gaming so I don't accidentally fat finger an ultimate or some other bull shit.

- The "V3-Pro" accessory for the Edge that supports tenting without the Palm Supports (Available in March).
- A non-backlit version of the Edge called the Freestyle Pro (available Q2 2018).
- And last, but not least, an RGB version of the Edge is in the works:) (Available Q4 2018).
I don't really like backlit keyboards because I'm an old fogey, so that non-backlit one would have been my choice if it was offered in the kickstarter. I imagine it will be a bit cheaper than the normal and full RGB versions.

I use the textured plastic WSAD caps that came with the K65 to feel the movement keys. They definitely help. Ain’t nothing worse than fudging a grenade at a wall when you meant to peek the corner.
Edit: That Kinesis board is listed but out of stock on Amazon. Definitely interested in one though.

Also, I ordered those keycaps based off your feedback. Looking forward to trying them out, though I may still primarily be playing Monster Hunter. lol

I'm a mousepadlet and I'm not ashamed
Speaking of mice though, I'm torn between the latest Final Mouse and a wireless G903. Shit could cost ten grand, IDGAF, price isn't the issue. I just don't know if I want a wireless or extremely light mouse to replace my 310.

The G900/G903 is the best wireless mouse on the market. It is an ambidextrous mouse though (idk if that bothers your or not). I have the G900 and I won't go back to wires for a mouse. The performance here is identical to that of a wired one anyway.

I trust in Rocket Jump Ninja's review of it. I'm just just sceptical of what I'd like more, a smaller and lighter mouse or a wireless mouse. I was tempted by the Rival 600, but the lift off sensor just seems like a gimmick to me as the difference between it and the 310 seem pretty minimal.

If you want smaller and lighter, but still wireless, check out the G703.
If my Zowie mouse let me curl my pinkie inside it a bit, I think it would be absolutely perfect for me.
