Will the next iPhone likely have 5g?
I have started seeing all the carriers in Korea put up placards in Seoul for where their boxes are going.
Makes me want 5g

Bought myself some headphones, had some average beats in ear ones before that I thought were good. Was recommended the momentum 2 for in ear but ended up with the bang and olufsen h5. Only been able to have one quick demo but wow, I've never heard sound like this before. I had some cheap headphones before so while I appreciate I'm sure there are more high end headphones that's simply the best sound I've ever heard.
After 2 days with it, I am completely in love with the Pocophone F1.
Blazing fast, very decent camera and outstanding battery. I used it intensively yesterday, browsing for many hours, mobile data always on, took photos and video, played a couple of games and that damn thing still had 35% battery left when I got home nearly 24h after I took it of the charger.
For 320€ for the 128GB/6GB Ram version, it's a bargain.

Uninstalled some device search app on my phone and holy shit it runs so much faster now. Puts off me wanting a new phone for a while. Just wish I could replace the battery on this one.

This seems to be a good, space-saving usb charger for cars: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H4Z71PY/
Mine just came in today and seems to work well enough. Not sure how durable it is as this is a relatively new product. Had the most power per USB slot I could find in this form factor.

Have wired over-ear headphones massively gone up in price? Getting static through my Sennheisers, could have sworn they were about twenty quid six or so years ago. Now a similar pair costs about fifty on Amazon.
Also is their anything that can be done to slow down or repair the faux leather peeling on earpads? Really don't wanna be spending upwards of £70 on a headset just because a small issue like that develops into holes in the netting below.

cant say i have noticed any rise in price.
the way to fix faux leather peeling on earpads, is not buying headphones with faux leather.

Is it planned for their to be a central network that all driverless vehicles are connected to so each one knows exactly what the vehicles around it are going to do?
Or are they good enough at judging things in the moment that it'd never be necessary? Plus presumably there'd be issues with network lag and unreliable connections

By Hitch Go To PostIs it planned for their to be a central network that all driverless vehicles are connected to so each one knows exactly what the vehicles around it are going to do?There's no standardised communication system between different car brand yet, let alone a central network. I think eventually a local communication standard will emerge (after every company tries to push their own standard first) that allows cars to talk to those around them.

Finally got around to using the Chromecast Ultra that I got for Christmas. Randomly decided to hook it up to my sons tv since the OLED in the living room is already being used by the Apple TV 4K.
It’s pretty neat. I’m using the Google Home app on the iPad with it, no issues so far. Are there any tangible benefits for using the Chromecast with an Android phone vs the app on an Apple device?

You can cast your phone screen and/or audio from an Android phone. Can do the same from Chrome on an actual computer
Casting a Chrome desktop tab that's playing video is far more resource intensive to your computer than casting the video source directly, which takes up no resources.
Really need to get a standalone router, but the default fiber all in one box seems to be holding up lol. Yesterday had me playing online while my wife was watching something in 4k Netflix using the Apple TV and using her laptop. My iPad casting to my son's tv for him and his cousins. No breakups or buffering. Expected it to completely stop functioning by now tbh.
Nah Chromecast is quite possibly the one piece of hardware Google got right. It works pretty much as intended. You can cast videos from your phone as long as the audio is AAC encoded.
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postkibner is your home smart housed up?Nah, it's an old home so I have to do things like add extra wires to the HVAC unit to power a smart thermostat. The only smart device I have are light bulbs. And even then, I just set them to my preferred brightness and color temperature levels and operate them as you would a normal switch.
that's probably the first thing i'll do when I own a home lol
e: i don't even have a standalone alexa or google assistant device; i just use my phone or tablet if i want to take advantage of that functionality
By Kibner Go To PostThis thread:In response, Apple has revoked their enterprise internal distribution certificates:
O_o
In a statement given to Recode, Apple said that Facebook was in “clear breach of their agreement with Apple.” Any developer that breaches that agreement, Apple said, has their distribution certificates revoked, “which is what we did in this case to protect our users and their data.” We’ve reached out to Apple for comment on shutting down Facebook’s other internal apps.https://www.theverge.com/2019/1/30/18203551/apple-facebook-blocked-internal-ios-apps
Revoking a certificate not only stops apps from being distributed on iOS, but it also stops apps from working. And because internal apps by the same organization or developer may be connected to a single certificate, it can lead to immense headaches like the one Facebook now finds itself in where a multitude of internal apps have been shut down.
Think it was Diehard asked why IBM is so popular still / as big as they are.
Most governments heads of department run with the theory "can't get fired for using IBM". i.e. no one can really criticise the choice, it's the safe bet.
They're involved in a TON of research, publications and university sponsored projects.
They're also pushing into a lot of new areas constantly.
I end up using AWS instead. But IBM are always there in basically every product. But it's usually so expensive that small /medium firms go AWS.

I was actually kinda questioning the opposite. They should be Kings with the head-start they had in almost every facet of enterprise technology. If they had same Market Cap they did now as they did in 1980 they would be about a $3 Trillion dollar company. They had the golden ticket and lost.
Their recent cloud stuff is doing pretty well though.. and it's not like they are a terrible company like Oracle.

IBM were never that interested in being the home pc guys though. Nor the home OS guys. They were known as a brand because they were huge in corporate. You could say they misread that and should have gone after both.
But MS sort of did the opposite. track.
I dunno, the way money is spent in that "market cap" is different.

They lost processing to Intel, Virtualization to VMWare, storage to EMC, servers to Dell/HPE, and networking to Cisco. A modern datacenter probably doesn't contain an IBM product and that would have been unthinkable 35 years ago.

I would fully expect them to have lost on plenty of products/solutions, but are they the market leader in anything now? POS systems?
