By LFMartins86 Go To PostAny news on your Switch?Sorry I only saw this now, been a hectic time since I
Nope, my Fnac order is still DOA but I bought it from a local store, also figured it would be better in case there's any problem. At least Fnac acknowledged on Twitter to me that I should just refuse the DHL delivery if I don't want it. Which I will if it ever gets sent (which I hope not).
Apart from processing the refund, I'm sorted.
updated thread with all FC's, i'll be adding you guys later today
A few games came out today on the eShop:
Blaster Master Zero, Voez (touchscreen only game) and a bunch of neo-geo stuff
supposedly blaster master zero has awesome hd rumble implementation. i might just cop it to test that out

Ended up getting Fast RMX as the store where I bought my Switch doesn't know when they will send me my Zelda as they are waiting to get more stock so I have to wait as I got Zelda for just 10€ as part of a promo.
Well, they got the name of the game right. Boy, is that game fast. Feels like a stable 60fps on handheld mode.
It's pretty good so far but I haven't played it much as I arrived home from my internship with a fever and just went straight to bed.

Absolutely enamoured with the system. Mine is a pretty much flawless unit and being able to play Zelda on TV and then just sliding it out and taking it with me is just... wow. The kind of thing you only realize you wanted when you actually get it. Just bring me more games for it because this console begs to be played.
So far own Zelda and Fast RMX. Both great (but obviously Zelda being the beefier game). Already experienced playing local multiplayer portably with Fast RMX during breaks. Awesome stuff.
Now applying a screen protector was a bitch though. But it's sorted, until I get a glass one.

I am loving Fast RMX. It's perfect for little bursts of game time, you can finish a cup in less than 10 minutes.
Ordered one from Amazon. Will be severely pissed off if I don't get on with the joycons.
How long does setup take?

How is the battery life on Sleep mode?
Not that there's much reason to keep it outside of charge for extended periods, but its annoyingly poor on the 3DS

The standby time is surprisingly good. I'm not sure if it's Vita good where you can leave it for a month and still have charge, but it's much much better than any other past Nintendo handheld.
It's better that most smartphones barring the iPhone.
This is a damn nice machine, good balance between being sleek and sturdy, screen seems very nice. Left joycon arrived with very little battery for some reason. Is there a way of privately posting your screenshots on twitter, like you can with the PS4?

Got it today, played around 8 hours of Zelda
Early impressions. The tablet is great, everything you want from it really. Sleek, sturdy, nicely shaped, nice screen. The joycon controller dock thing is very comfortable. Shoulder buttons should be better. Would prefer concave, wider analog stick nubs but that's a matter of preference.
Screenshot function is very slick, but could do with a grouping function in the OS to upload multiple pictures at once. Also would appreciate it if I could post them to twitter as private tweets, just as a shorcut to save them to my PC without spamming people.
Now the only real issue. My left joycon arrived with no battery, and has run out of charge after just 8 hours. The right joycon on the other hand has the opposite issue, showing almost a full charge after the same amount of time, which tells me that its not a reliable reading. 8 hours is enough that I don't think I'll return it if the problem persists, but its pretty disappointing.
Overall I think Nintendo have surprised me and got it right on the hardware end, thought it seemed a bit shit before I got it tbh. The dock is as flimsy and cheap-looking as I expected, but the tablet is a tonne better than I thought it'd be.

For some reason the way I hold it in handheld mode, I keep pressing the shoulder buttons by accident. Really annoying.
Seems like the supply lines in the US have opened up a bit this week. Seen systems at Target yesterday and my buddy in Santa Cruz told me he saw some at Best Buy near San Jose.
Anyone else really impressed by the battery life? It's no vita but considering Zelda is console-quality, 3 hours is longer than I expected.
The supply chain is definitely loosening up I think. Atlanta area targets and best buys all got stock in on thursday and friday. I purchased mine on Friday night at the Edgewood best buy, right after the truck came in. I went back the next day to get a pro controller around 2pm, and they still had 15+ consoles in stock.
My overall impression is positive, as being able to take it handheld is simple and easy, but there's several things that I don't like or annoy me about it.
First of all, the build quality of this thing does not inspire confidence. It puts out a lot of heat through the heatsink/vent at the top. The kickstand is flimsy garbage. The joycons feel like cheapy madcatz controller-reserved-for-friends-when-they-come-over tier and the joycon controller-holder-thing is a light, shitty, hilariously bad piece of fuck shit bad garbage-ass fuckery. The joycon triggers are next to unusable, especially when in handheld mode. Strain your hands and the damn thing is just too wide. The dock is fucking a w f u l but I expected that. Feels like a 9.99 accessory instead of the 80 or whatever they charge for it seperately. I put a glass protector on my switch so I wouldn't have to worry about the dreaded dockscratch issue.
The pro controller however feels great. solid, comfortable, triggers actually usable. TOO BAD IT COST 70 FUCKING DOLLARS. FUCK YOU NINTENDO.
I still don't like the roundabout way nintendo does things, from going online/finding friends all the way to the OS of this thing. Really? i have to actually HIT the power button in order to get the option to shut the console all the way off instead of just going into "sleep" mode? Who the fuck designed this?
The actual gaming experience though while it is docked (with a pro controller) is pretty good though although that may have more to do with the ONE game that is out for this thing right now being so great. But so far, Im having fun with it.
I do not feel as if the 460+ bucks i am in to this thing was worth it, though. At least not yet.
At a 299.99 price point I would have expected better in the way of build quality and design. I think more thought should have gone into these joycon layouts.
One thing I do think was nice was the lack of thousands of pages of manuals and other bullshit documents that usually come with these things. The only guide was actually printed on the inner box, that was great. I wish everyone did this.

I like the controller grip :(
Analog grips should arrive tomorrow, then the shoulder buttons will be my only problem with the console
Left joycon battery issue seems to have fixed itself

Anyone picking up graceful explosion machine? Looks pretty fun.
Mr Shifty comming out next week looks pretty good too. The Switch is starting to get a nice stream of indy games.

I played some vita after a month of Switch and it feels so tiny lol
PS:
Is this a safe cable to use?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YT688U0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It charges my switch off this power bank https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P7N0320/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
but I want to make sure it's safe to use as a main charger so I don't have to remove the cable from the dock or pro controller

That is where I would normally suggest Amazon Basics, but it looks like they are out of stock.
Monoprice's top USB cable would probably be safe. Amazon search link.

Got Graceful Explosion, really fun game on the go. Plus the developers are from Toronto so gotta support lol
Snake Pass is a fun little game. Didn't play a whole lot, but here's the early notes:
-Great jungle vibe with beautiful David Wise music. Donkey Kong really comes to mind.
-The controls are certainly quite unique, in a good way, but they are also hard especially at first, and the camera doesn't help much in that regard. Mainly the manual camera control which is a bit too slow.
-The style is great and it looks good on Switch (only played on TV mode so far - will update with how it looks on portable mode), but I imagine it easily looks sharper on other platforms. Performance-wise seemed mostly stable, but can't say it had a locked frame rate. Found a stutter once or twice.
That's a bit it, not much of an in-depth review but I only played like 4 levels and will probably not rush through it, but rather play it on short occasions when I need to kill some time. Seems competent for that.

It seems to me that devs should be porting games to switch asap and taking advantage of the lack of titles. I see old ass SNK games selling for $8 and I'm sure folks are buying them. If the joycon dpad was worth a damn, I might have been tempted. How long till they release a left joycon with a linked dpad?
So I'm planning to get the Switch, and have been doing some planning for budget reasons. Here's what I'll be going for first:
Switch
Zelda BoTW
Powerbank
Switch Bag
128gb SD Card
Is there anything else I should budget into the mix? Would the 128gb SD card be enough?

Pro controiler if you care about playing docked. Just a much better experience than the the joycon and grips are IMO. Plus you don't have to slide on your joycons when going portable
Graceful explosion machine is dope!

Ended up buying 1 2 Switch as I had a few friends over that aren't really the gaming type.
It's 2am and we just started our 4th straight game of Team Battle, they absolutely love it and have been laughing all night and recording videos.

Was looking at the release schedule just now...
That's everything with a confirmed date.
Charging $40 for SFII seems a bit much.
Arms and Rime (out May 26 for PS4, XB1, PC) due sometime this summer but have no official dates.
Puyo Puyo Terri's - April 25
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - April 28
Ultra Street Fighter II – May 26

Disagea 5 Complete is also out in May.
In terms of digital only games, Mr Shifty (which looks like Hotline Miami with a less blood and with the Nightcrawler) is coming out next week, the Wonder Boy remake the following week a and that NBA arcade game is May.
So those two will likely be dated there. That's good.
Splatoon is probably going to be excellent. MK8 as well.
Do we know if they plan to have a proper conference at e3 this year or is it another Treehouse stream deal? Wish they would talk about their online service sooner rather than later.

There's nothing proper about their conferences, they'd be foolish to go back to them after killing it the past couple of E3s.
