How many people who bought the hummer 2 you think ever took them off road?
By Fenderputty Go To PostHow many people who bought the hummer 2 you think ever took them off road? The H2 wasn't a success though
Keep in mind that Hummer as a company was plagued by a pair of recessions (the tailend of the 2000-2001 recession, and 2008-2010) and also two massive gasoline price surges in 2004 and then again during the recession of 2008-2010. It simply existed in the wrong climate. It was a desired product, but a poorly built one.
I expect this thing to sell, personally. Hell, even I like it! All of those people who are sick of waiting for the Cybertruck...here is the perfect alternative.

Aren't all the electric trucks going to launch by 2022? Rivian F150 etc. Seems Tesla are in a pickle with that market segment.
By diehard Go To PostThe H2 wasn't a success though
3rd times the charm baby! You have to spend 120k to have a range worth getting if you actually want to go off-road.
One of the Tesla Model 3's more prominent design flaws is a rear bumper cover that is prone to being stripped from the car when water is allowed to accumulate inside it, either from standing water or intense downpours. Owners of brand-new Model 3s have reportedly paid thousands of dollars to replace their bumpers (and repair the damage to other parts done by their separation) as a result of what Tesla now tacitly acknowledges is an engineering defect.wtf
InsideEVs reports that Tesla has issued a service bulletin noting that Model 3s built before May 21, 2019, may sustain damage as a result of "driving through standing water on a road or highway with poor drainage or pooling water."
This has been known for over 18 months and only now they are acknowledging it
By /bacon Go To PostA hummer going 0-60 in three seconds is positively terrifying.
Itβs gotta be the weight of a train too lol
Electrical engines are the shit. If they ever figure out refueling and power storage, they will instantly replace all IC engines. Loads of instant torque.
Yeah, gotta figure it's about what, 6500-7000 pounds? Gonna be a pedestrian murderer that makes Mustangs look positively quaint in comparison. Cool vehicle but dangerous AF.
Anybody see what Mighty Car Mods just bought?
I won't spoil it of course but goddamn son! I am extremely hyped.

Speaking of...
iPhone pics for now but I have super HQ pics I'll post later lol.
As for my thoughts, you really have to see it to form an opinion IMO. I think the pictures that were initially dropped don't really do it any justice(even the BMW reps around us admitted that to everyone who brought it up lol). But I will say that this looks sooo much better in the M3 and hopefully the 3 series... we also have a 4-series outside of this booth and despite the fact that I thought it looked okay, I do think it works a looooot better in the 3-series as the bumper is almost like a rectangle versus the 4-series where it's very curvy.
A funny anecdote is that the reps already had spiel ready to go about the grille, they didn't specifically say who but the gist is that: "We're not the first company to use a big grille in their cars." Which obviously refers to Lexus, Audi and maybe even Benz. π
Hah I wish. Best I can do right now is another Miata or 2/4 series coupe with a stick. :(

Don't think being compared to Lexus' grill is a compliment lol
Audi did it clean though but I do remember the backlash early on. This just feels unnecessary.

Only BMW I might ever buy is the M2. But even then, the next car I buy is either going to be a project car (gotta resolve the lack of garage, first) or a high-RPM N/A car. I don't want another forced-induction car.

the frozen m3 i posted is the first time i thought the car looked good, but that farty exhaust is wretched
i also agree about the m3 looking a bit better than the m4

By Facism Go To Postimagine how many leaves you could catch in those grills during the autumnThe grill itself isn't that functional. The Asian markets love a big grill so it's more a marketing thing.

I know y'all didn't ask for this but here y'all go anyway. π
As you can see from the top-down-ish view, it looks really good as long you as you don't notice the grille. But once you notice it, it's practically game over lol.
Lemme know if y'all want even higher res pics, I have the full res at 42 megapixels lol. On a related note, does SLAENT have a Camera/Photography thread?

By Christberg Go To Posthttps://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a34450961/2021-ram-1500-trx-by-the-numbers/I "ordered" one on the Tuesday that they started accepting at the dealership. Apparently I'm 3rd in line with no exact guarantee of being able to get one fulfilled. They've also told me that there will be a $20K markup. I told the guy we'll see about that.

I ordered my widebody Hellcat through them with no markup, no Daytona nonsense, and they treat a 3-time customer that like that.

Thanks! Yes, I BELIEVE the interior looks like it was done by E3 Customs in Miami. The same place that did Tavarish's Murci interior.
These "crystal" shifters on Volvos are legitimately amazing:
A lot of the Volvo marketing materials I get my hands on always say something about Swedish design, museums, art pieces, etc., and while I do see what they're talking about, this "crystal" shifter is the first one that really sells this idea to me.

DY could use that for his Covid toe.

I've been thinking of getting a different topper for both my Cayman and my Logitech steering wheel. Need to look to see what is available other than what is on Rennline.
