americans fire thousands of tech workers everyday and we here are hiring janitors if are willing to learn to code on company time.
By Batong Go To PostGood janitor code though 🤔I kinda want to be a part-time computer janitor, tbh. Just making sure already existing apps stay running smoothly, recover cleanly when they don't, and keeping systems organized in a way other people can easily find what they are looking for.

they make three of the biggest (live service) games on the planet (four if you count TFT) with one of the only succesful esports leagues that has competitions world wide.
they also have like 2 other live service games and 5 other games in development.
still a lot but not crazy like Unity.

By Kibner Go To PostKubernetes is a lot. Want to learn it to keep my skills up,
Whole career positions just for k8s
I've taken the first step by creating my own dockerfile and hosting it through my TrueNAS server, which uses kubernetes. https://www.truenas.com/docs/scale/scaletutorials/apps/usingcustomapp/
Granted, I don't understand like half of the options available and exactly none of the load balancing or failover stuff. I'd have to get another server up and running to actually do that and not sure if I want to go through that kind of trouble. Also, their ui is a more user-friendly thing than using k3s directly. (also, I need to look up the difference between k8s and k3s again. i used to know!)

Today I found out abut HCEs (Highly Compensated Employees) and 401K caps. I'm extremely unhappy, mostly at the situation because of the company I work at but also annoyingly that we privatized retirement and are means testing everything in the US. FFS.
I’m on vacation for most of March but my brain is already on vacation mode. Just have to make it through February one day at a time…

By Lunatic Go To PostSounds like you're trappednot trapped but not where i am now either.
but even now i probably wouldnt take more than 2 months to get things rolling even though i could chill for a year.
As much as my career feels kind of old hat at this point there are few things I get more satisfaction from in life than absolutely ripping a client pitch.
