By Pac-2 Go To PostOdd stance that, worrying about morale and good products.Conflicting, really. I didn't see him mention shareholder value anywhere!
Yes, I'm sure there are downsides and horrible Japanese laws, too, but this seems such a great idea on the surface:
By JesalR Go To PostThey do own a tonne of non-Japanese studios thoughThey have offices in almost every western country and never laid people off there. Sony and Xbox closed most of theirs years ago.
It’s nearly impossible.
No one really got fired when I used to be at TSA except for drugs, a lot of my friends went into other agencies and they say it’s the same shit. You have to majorly fuck up numerous times
If you know someone that got fired from a government job, cut that person out your life because they are an irredeemable mess

By DY_nasty Go To Postthis five day work week shit ain't it4 days + 6 hours per day is the dream. Quality of life would improve so much and I'm not convinced productivity would even fall a noticeable amount. Rested and happy people are more focused and productive.
and also lmao its way too hard to fire gov employees holy fuck
That would indeed be the dream, especially if you have little kids. But otherwise as well, of course. Not realistic unless you have your own company, I'm aiming at going from 40 hours a week to 32 hours. But need to advance a lot more to be able to afford it.
By DY_nasty Go To PostWith one shitty hire I'm ready to bounce 😂
Don't forget to also rock, skate and roll on the way out
By reilo Go To PostI saw that a few days back; some commenters pointed out they probably wouldn't have trouble getting applicants to go through all that because Linux obsessives would do anything to work at Canonical
The email never ends wtf

Ooooh, they're trying to attract mentally unwell people they can take advantage of. Makes more sense now.
By reilo Go To PostLets all help Kibner write his interview memoirfuck that noise. i don't even understand how people put up with that 5 separate interviews over the course of weeks and requires travel junk.
By FortuneFaded Go To PostHorse m8, how would the people at your secondary school remember you?
"Unassuming", "Who?"
a friend of mine recently applied for a very high level position and the shit they had him do is bonkers. reinforced my belief that people at the very top are just insane and should be locked away from society

And when they decide to jump ship they lie through their teeth to accumulate accolades off the back of their direct reports
got a job offer today from a competitor. havent been looking but a client connected us i figured i at least owed it to them to hear them out. probably going to pass mainly because i don't want to move and hit reset on my life again after 2 years. good to know people are speaking well on my name though.
What are the positives if you did take the offer though, and where would they be asking you to move?

Dallas
+ better commission rate
+ their fulfillment processes are the by far best in our industry by some distance due to the owner's background. makes the product/brand easy to sell.
- no more WFH (and the resulting expense increase from that) because I'd have to be in-house 2 years to learn the business from the ground up the way the owner likes to train new account managers
- considerably more work as they don't have AP/AR teams, marketing, etc. I'd be doing all of that myself hence the way better commission rate to account for the extra work sales reps have to do
- moving to Dallas after really just hitting my stride in Atlanta
overall I'm just not really feeling it in my gut
disgusting
