Copped a Ricoh GR IIIx to go alongside my GR III. May sell the latter if I prefer the 40mm focal length over then 28mm.
Going to bring my camera to Roskilde Festival next week. Inshallah

By Daz Go To Posttakes a while to get comfortable.I went for something more pocketable after I purchased the one in the Fuji in the thumbnail. The Ricoh GR, feels better in the hand. There's a 40mm version now and I kind of want to get it. That said, the colors and B&W of the Fuji were unrivaled. That is about the only thing that I miss from that system. Not even my [Nikon full frame pumps out those colors. I mean, they do but the secret sauce is missing.
Has anyone dipped their fingers in drone photography? Wanna git gud at it before my holiday.
Short of spending obscene amounts of money on stuff like the Leica M11, Ricoh GRs are the best cameras I’ve used. Just super fun with obscenely good image quality. I had the 40mm model for a bit but returned it because I prefer 28mm a lot more and it works better for city streets.
concert stuff is tough, but i like it. from roskilde this week
last but not least, that guy from resident evil 8

By Daz Go To PostDamn, sick pics.Well, their latest album is all about the death threats and sexual harassment that the band (but mainly Lauren Mayberry) have received through the concept of horror movie scenario, they even collaborated with John Carpenter by remixing eachother songs, so it's no surprise they went a bit harder with this tour.
Also, didn't know Chvrches went that hard.

John Carpenter is a good egg
Thanks lads. Finally on my way home now
This one I call the efukt shot
First time for me too. They were pretty great, although I was tired as fuck at that point (2 am they were set to start... and they were even delayed a bit), and the rest of the crowd also seemed a bit exhausted. Their newer stuff dont do that much for me tbh, but really good show either way.
Turnstile, Chvrches and Otoboke Beaver no doubt best of the festival for me. Sigrid and Converge Blood moon very cool too though. The Strokes had just about everyone, including journalists, asking for them to be deported after. Some even claim they were worse than rhcp last time, which is quite something.

By LFMartins86 Go To PostVery good pics, Wooden. So jealous that you got to see Chvrches.

Fuji 100Vs are either sold out everywhere or are being sold for extortionate prices.
Are there any good alternatives?

By Daz Go To PostFuji 100Vs are either sold out everywhere or are being sold for extortionate prices.Enthusiast compact cameras are a dead breed and the major ones (Fujifilm X100V, Ricoh GR III, Leica Q2) are all distinctly different. I think Canon also makes one and the Panasonic LX-100 II or whatever it’s called is a decent option.
Are there any good alternatives?
But personally, my favourite of them is the Ricoh GR III line. If you’re not into the 28mm equivalent of the original, the X version’s 40mm is just as good.
Yea I heard X100s are going for almost $2,000 used.
But of course I was way ahead of the times, followers.

Yeah, the X100Vs are back ordered and like gold dust.
I have looked athe RICOH GR line and i really like their understated appearance - they wont draw too much attention.
But i had my heart set on the Vs, maybe the Fuji E-4s will do, but I am scared to look those up too.

XE-4 with the bundled 28mm f2.8 is an awesome combination. Can always get another lens later on. X100V is cool but the XE-4 is basically 90% of the way there with the ability to change lenses and at a cheaper price. Only major difference is the OVF and the leaf shutter and the former is kind of a pointless feature for that camera anyway.
X100V are still being sold at normal prices here, and plenty cheaper used ones. Weird.
Anyway thinking about selling my 77d and buying the R6. I want that R6 Mark 2, but I also gotta not spend too much money

a few months during the summer. if you're lucky it's even sunny during the winter sometimes, it's just really fucking cold anyway. did just buy a ticket for roskilde festival 2023, so pray for it to be sunny as last time
thank you
anyone got experience with third party batteries? Canon LP-E6NH is like 130 dollars here a piece lmao

Fantastic shots, Wooden. I haven't take my camera out in months, I miss taking some shots.
Regarding third party batteries, I have a Sony Alpha and have used two Starblitz batteries that I bought for 30€ or less without any issue for about 3 years.
When I have to shoot video for a long time I just use a powerbank.
