By SavageGordonLung Go To PostGlow On totally rules. My favorite album of the year.
By SavageGordonLung Go To PostI didnt think much of it at first, but it has really grown on meI like black out but never listened to the rest
By SavageGordonLung Go To PostOne of the best albums of the year, 100%.
The latest Snail Mail album is really good too, listened to it all last week. I hadn’t heard of them before/her before, going to check out her other album Lush too.
I’m revisiting the Protest the Hero album Palimpest today, it’s a masterpiece honestly.
Idles dropped their new album. Pretty interesting evolution looking at their previous album.
Some I instantly like and some will take some playbacks.

Third song (bad selection) so good live. jfc.
incredible. Bad Selection is my fav song on the album.
Yeah, a guilty nigga’s always first to bargain
He pissed his trousers when he heard the sergeants
Two bricks of powder wasn’t worth the charges, up in the worst apartments
Cooking, take a couple steps back, wait for that work to harden
By SavageGordonLung Go To Postfirst song is all futures @syFuk yess. Do they play 'An Iteration' in this set?
Third song (bad selection) so good live. jfc.
Edit: another great All Futures performance. This song can't miss
So good. Bad Selection has grown a lot on me too. Right behind An Iteration' for 3rd best track on the LP.
So, are those the actual band members? Was expecting the female singer (that does the ayayayayaya in all futures) to take the lead in that performance but it was the dude. So is that just a voice filter?

Listened to that Turnstile album in full a couple times. It's pretty good indeed. I saved Don't Play, Holiday, Blackout, Fly Again and Wild World.
By s y hulud Go To PostSo, are those the actual band members?
They are,. But there's a lot. Like at least 50 on each of their recent albums, and mostly no one are ever credited, so never really know what lineup is showing up at any given concert, they have often done free shows under other names and so on through the US. Drummer from Protomartyr sings on the song Role Models too without being credited. I am pretty sure that is not even Cara (the girl from all futures) in that adultswim video, but the singer from a small Boston band called Old Soul instead.
Cara doesn't do clean vocals anyway really, mostly just screaming
But uhm yeah, doubt you care, but there's a lot of theories.
I doubt you would like that, at all. In fact I am sure you will hate it. People mostly mention it cause the armeds earlier albums had a lot in common with them, when they were mostly just hardcore noise, and because their guitarist produced everything The Armed (and their drummer also have been on some records, including ultrapop).
That said, Jane Doe is the classic.
That said, Jane Doe is the classic.
Saw them a few years ago at Roskilde Festival (with a lot from the armed in the crowd) and it was good, but fuck me, by the end of that set, i also just kind of had enough. Very monotone.
yeah converge is proper shit.
So according to google searches the frontman/lead singer for a lot of the stuff on Ultrapop is Adam Vallely........but Adam Vallely is not Adam Vallely. He goes by that name in all of the Ultrapop PR and interviews but Vallely is actually some nerd music writer.
'Adam Vallely' is actually Tony Wolski. Who played drums on their previous albums(now, Urian Hackney) but switched to vocals for Ultrapop and is also the drummer for Genghis Tron and directed some videos for Metz and Converge.
This totally defeats the point of them being 'anonymous' thing and I feel stupid for looking this up for the last 30 minutes.

Tonys name is everywhere, nothing much anonymous about him and never has been, only some contributors are truly anonymous, like the drummer from protomartyr. Think Tony using Adams name was more of a joke/troll towards the real Adam than anything.

Think Tony using Adams name was more of a joke/troll towards the real Adam than anything.Well, it sure wasn't simple to find his real name. He's not credited on a single song on the album and 'ultrapop/the armed lead vocalist/singer' searches only turn up Ultrapop interviews with Tony using Adam's name.
There's even a 1hr long podcast with him using that name. idk, maybe this shit is common for bands. I only ever found the tony wolski name from a random reddit post. It's what I get for caring beyond the name of the band.
My view is probably heavily skewed, as I've known him through Dillinger Escape Plan forums since the mid 00's, where he would begin to post the armed demos and ask us nicely to scream into whatever terrible 5 dollar microphone we had, and ask for contributions to their album. But he is credited on the film, lots of interviews and every album (also on spotify) except ultrapop (where everyone credited is just a variation of the name Dan Greene), he is one of the main people making the final decisions with Dan Greene. But you gotta be a nerd to really care, there is literally hundreds involved, although some are to a much lesser degree than others.
(btw, he sings for Genghis Tron, they have their own drummer)
Anywaaaaaaaaaaaay, been listening to a lot of Zao recently. Still love The Funeral of God

Finally got that lyrics update on the Spotify desktop app. It's kind of half assed as for the unsynced songs, you can't even scroll the lyrics but when it works, it's neat.
By Hixx Go To PostLove it.
Wow tones, new Bloc Party in 2021 and it's actually banging.
It's only been like 5 years since the last one, not surprised they have new stuff out
I still have a soft spot for this album:

Not really surprising (Alexis Marshall seems like a mess, also got kicked off Sargent House) but FFS
