It seemed like the transmission in the C63 AMG was always the worst part about the car, and it looks like they are attempting to fix it with the refresh:
The W205 generation's twin-turbo V8 engine is still available with two power outputs. The standard engine is rated at 469 horsepower and the S version at 503, with both numbers a little down from the pre-facelift car; however, the transmission is now the 9-speed AMG Speedshift MCT. Mercedes says the transmission has been specially tuned for the occasion, and the torque converter is still replaced with a wet start clutch. Of the three available body styles, the coupe is the fastest to 60 miles per hour at 3.8 seconds.
Well, all I know is apparently Aston should hire Alpha to take their press shots, because this looks a lot better than what I’ve seen previously of it. Sounds great, too. Not sold on the green but hey, I get it.
That Vantage sounds nasty in a great, great way. And yeah I am stoked about the 2019 C63 AMG. I was already pretty hot on it before they announced the 9 speed MCT but that is just icing on the cake. For some reason I had completely overlooked that car when I first started thinking about a new ride but it is definitely on my radar now.
Edit - Just saw this from the press release of the 2019 C63: "The electronic limited-slip differential, which previously came only in S models, is now standard across the C63 lineup. Dynamic engine mounts are also now standard." That is also pretty huge for anyone not considering an S model, like me!

Man, I can't find a professional instructional class for stick shift in either Baton Rouge or New Orleans. Don't have a choice now and will need to see if my buddy's offer for using his family's beat up farm truck still stands.
Whoever designed the Lincoln Aviator apparently wanted a Rover outside and a Mercedes inside. If you’re gonna ape somebody, make it the best somebody I suppose.
How many months left do you guys reckon Tesla has before filling for Chapter 11? I give it till August.
Naw, they'll get another ridiculous short-term cash influx. Musk is just doing this long enough before he can sell Tesla Automotive off to, say, an Apple or GM while he keeps the battery business to supply all of the manufacturers because he knows that's where the money and margins are.
We're supposed to get a Model 3 update this week. Will they finally break 5,000 Model 3s per week??! Stay tuned!

One of the reasons Moody downgraded them was because they anticipate Tesla having to take out more funding to stay afloat.
New Altima is the best looking car in the segment.

But no AWD for the turbo FWD car? Wtf.

That front grill needs a bit tweaking because it looks like a bucktooth but that's a huge improvement for Nissan.
New Forester.
They're only going to have one engine option.
And it's less powerful than the Mazda CX-5.
God fucking damn it.

So Google ordered 20,000 Jaguar I-Pace exclusively for Waymo use. I imagine there will be more to come. But it'll be awesome to see I-Paces all over the roads like that.
That's a fuckton of cars and a MASSIVE collaboration for Jaguar. These kinds of partnerships will become pivotal for brands like Jaguar.

I uhh...like the new Aviator. But an FYI: the head of design at Lincoln is the former head designer of Audi. So the exterior of the Aviator has a huge resemblance to the Q7, imo. But that's a good thing. It's also why the new Audi A8 came out looking like the Lincoln Continental. Lincoln was able to crib the design elements before Audi could actually reveal their car.
Gotta say, I do love the competition. The products we're getting today are terrific.

Hell, I love the new Navigator. The wait on them is like 16 months right now. They're sold out everywhere!
Yeah, I actually kinda dig the Navigator as well. Kind of slots in with the Escalade in that big whale category. The Aviator looks decent too, but they should have made it more... American looking, I think. The grill doesn't work as well as it could with the profile IMO.
Welp, car shit the bed today. Was on my way to work and check engine light came on along with the epc light as the car went into limp mode. Barely made it to work. Tried to turn it on during lunch and it’s a no go :( fml. Thankfully one of the techs is gonna check it for me after work but I’m sure my warranty is over as well.
Damn, that sucks.
If it was still running, did it sound like shit and clearly drive like crap? Your gen GTI has a known coil pack failure issue. The CEL + EPC lights are the indication of that usually.

Panel fitment problems, including gaps and misalignment are extremely common (also, orange peel on the paint, but many brands have this problem). I'm OCD enough that when I see stuff like that it bothers me to no end so I seriously doubt I would ever own another of their products or recommend one to an enthusiast.

That's ok though, as you said Alpha, there are plenty of fantastic products out there right now and competition is good. Maybe one day Ford will up its quality control game and I might want to own one again.
The Straight Pipes guys review the best car ever. (And honestly, after watching their review, I am inclined to agree!) This is a hilarious review!

I saw an E63 AMG Wagon parked on the street the other day in all black and was floored at this go-fast hearse exists.
Yeah, I have a huge soft spot for muscle wagons, for sure. If I ever found a CTS-V manual wagon I might not be able to control myself. This E63 wagon is amazing too.
Oddly enough, I even kinda dig the Magnum wagon.
Hope your baby is OK, Bubba. No fun when you gotta take ‘em in to get fixed.

Let us know what's up with it Bubba! I'm interested to find out that way I can see if it's also an mk7 issue.
Same here lol.
Back when I was working at that MB dealer I would always look longingly at the E350 wagon we had and tried to figure out if I could somehow afford it. Sadly after sitting in the floor for a few months, it was shipped out to another dealer where it probably had the same fate. :(
Speaking of cool cars, Doug Demuro reviewed the AWD+supercharged Toyota Previa and funny enough the video is trending at #7 as of this posting lol.
I still dream of picking one up and dropping a 2JZ in it for shits and giggles.
Anyway, gonna go off to Autotrader to find a Previa or a manual tranny equipped wagon lol.

By Kidjr Go To PostAlpha would you take a vantage or would wait for the new 992 turbo?
That's rough...one the one hand a Porsche is a Porsche. And it's stupidly fucking fast. But a Turbo doesn't distinguished itself quite like a GT3RS does. So it looks bland. The Vantage pops. It looks ridiculous, despite it's generic headlights. So it wins in looks. But it's not going to win the power war, as the Porsche pushes out over 600HP to the Vantage's ~510HP (which will also be offered at 575HP, as well, I think).
So my answer is...neither. I'll take an Acura NSX.
Wasn’t the coils or plugs. Tech is gonna check it today so I’ll know by the end of the day. Turned out I still have my extended warranty so I’m not tripping if it’s anything big.
Wagons are dope and the e63 is a beauty.
My pop’s ‘02 allroad is still kicking and I love that thing.

By NinjaFridge Go To PostTesla recalls 123,000 Model S sedansbah, behind a pay wall
I'm surprised Jalopnik hasn't reported the recall considering how they run a hit piece on Tesla every day lol.
By reilo Go To PostIs that the steering column recall?Doesn't appear to be. I googled other sources and it is a problem with bolts in the power steering corroding, causing a lower steering responsiveness if the car is driven in climates where something other than table salt is used on the roads: https://arstechnica.com/cars/2018/03/tesla-recalls-123000-model-s-electric-cars-for-faulty-power-steering-bolts/
Is this place still active??.....
Deciding on another car,...my plan to get Civic type R plan got scrap :( The NSX prices went to the dumper, so it's an option now. I still not sure about it cause I don't like the looks, it's only an option because I had the older ones and I want to continue the legacy.

I feel like there's too many great hot hatches in that segment that dropping $35-40k on a Type R feels ridiculous.

If you get in with out markup then it's a pretty good deal. Can't deny the performance. It's still pretty ugly though..
Why can't Honda make better looking cars....if the NSX looked slightly better, I wouldn't even think about it. Now it's between an NSX or a limited production car.
man if they fuck up the 6 series for the 8 series im gonna be pissed ;_;
said it before, but the m6 gran coupe is the best looking car in their lineup imo
Shin, are you the one that drives a GTR or is that someone else?
Yeah, if you can find a CTR without markup it’s definitely a good buy. I actually like the look of the NSX a lot

Umm...has anyone randomly decided to look at prices of used Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio? I did.
Two things shocked me:
1) Are they even selling these cars?? There are 404 of them for sale in the US. I'd estimate that's at least 50% of all US production thus far.
2) There are a lot of used ones AND heavily discounted new ones. :|
You can get them in the 60s...brand new. Some with a few miles in the low-low 60s. I'm not sure why these cars are being tossed so quick, but it can't be good.

Their reliability perception is really really bad. I also don't think the styling appears to the average buyer. It's also a reboot and I think they should've done the Jaguar thing and gone after the non-3-series segment first.
It's so tempting though. There's one for sale used at a Ferrari dealer in Orlando. I wanna test drive it hahaha.
If I was in the market for a new sports car, I'd consider one...3+ years of warranty is okay on a used car.
But the next car will likely be a used XJ with a solid CarMax warranty (assuming Doug DeMuro's stupid ass cornball face hasn't ruined the cost of their warranties for everyone).

Giulliana is a gorgeous car.
The Forester Engine going to the dumpster with no power is making me hesitate in buying it. But it makes me question the CX-5 also,
Something feels wrong about trying to pull a fully loaded trailer, with an engine that will only have 140kw of power / 250nm of torque.

For me, any new Alfa is on hold until we have a couple years of reliability data, at least. You're right though, tons of them floating around. It's kind of shocking actually. Never actually looked before this.
Basically any of the entry level CUVs are just too damn slow these days IMO. That, and FWD in something you're gonna tow with is kinda nope for me.
There's a reason I got a CPO GLK350 instead of anything new, oldschool infotainment be damned.
