Seriously the dude is straight out annoying. Everything he does is so forced. Who the heck looks for little "quirks" for the sake of looking for one….. He's driving laugh is so gringy and forced…
Witness the power of being familiar and predictable, a la McDonald's.
Any good car Instagrams you guys suggest? Not necessarily like professional shoots either, just owners who own cool cars, and enjoy putting them up.

If you watch Doug hoping for a somewhat entertaining and informative video... well, I think I have a bridge to sell you lol.
I think I've said it before, but his vids are good time-wasters or something you watch while you eat lunch alone at work.
Personally I watch SavageGeese and Redline Reviews for actual car reviews.

SavageGeese is excellent and if there's a guy who could use more support and "fame" then it is him.

It's just me. Not my brother.

Excactly. While it's great that he's bringing attention to lots of interesting and "quirky" cars, the information is low-value. Not a good investment of 15-25 minutes of life.
I've always had a thing for Aston Martin automobiles and not just because of James Bond. They just have an elegance and aura about them that I find massively appealing. For a while I seriously considered a pre-owned V8 Vantage GT but that car has such old tech these days for the price that I would find it hard to justify.
How was the new Vantage?

I personally didn't like it, especially the interior. It's largely a Mercedes AMG GTS, but with a fugly front end, and cheaper interior. Admittedly, the shape of the car is gorgeous, especially the rear. But when I sat inside it, it was a mark or two below the Merc (on which even the infotainment system runs off of).

You are LeBron James?
Or
You kidnapped LeBron James and planning to swap places with him via operation like the movie "Face-Off"?
Why though? It's just game 1.....

By AlphaSnacks Go To PostAnd I still have both Jags. Nothing got traded in.So something got added then? Was Evo X correct and you picked up a BMW "M" car? Perhaps with a V8 under the hood?? =)
While we are waiting on Alpha to fill us in here is a question for my fellow enthusiasts. What car, if any, would you see as a natural upgrade to an MX-5 Miata? And forget the droptop aspect. I am talking about purely driving dynamics and all of the things that make them fun to drive (great chassis, fun to shift, light-weight, responsive, etc.). Is there really such a thing as a "grown up" Miata? After chewing on this question for a while I have a car in mind but I am curious to see what you all think.

You are literally describing the Boxster/Cayman
4C is and the 718 twins are both great answers but I was thinking of something that isn't turbocharged. As an aside, even though I understand it, I sort of hate the "turbocharge everything" phase that we are in these days but that is a topic for another day.

Boxster/Cayman for sure. I <3 my 981 and I picked it over significantly more powerful cars because of how it drives.
By reilo Go To PostBlack cherries are delicious
Great fruit. Top 5, imo.
Also a great color on a car. Always love Black Cherry on virtually every car I've ever seen, from Jag XJs, to Challengers, Astons, 370Zs (350Z also had similar color), and even Mazda!
Great color. Subtle and sleek, yet highly appreciated.

987 Cayman/Boxster S. Easily.

You guys, lol.... Those last two replies...lol.
Anyway, I was actually thinking of the Lotus Evora believe it or not. Off the shelf Japanese motor (just like the MX-5) but with bespoke chassis (just like the MX-5). Compliant ride (again, like the MX-5) that is non-adjustable from the factory but still handles well. Focus on driver involvement is paramount and creature comforts and tech are secondary. As good as the 718 twins are I think the Lotus is just a little bit closer to the MX-5 ethos of Jinba Ittai or "horse and rider as one".
To whit, I think I will set up a test drive for an Evora 400 this summer. Lotus Atlanta is only like 50 miles away and I will know very quickly if it is for me or not. Supposedly it is a car that you either have to have or don't like much at all.

Didn't think of the Lotus. But yeah, it's true. The only quirk is getting in and out of the Lotus is a pain and it's less daily friendly than a Porsche. But yeah, it is a very fast and supremely capable British Miata.
So is the Lambo Urus pretty much a re-skin of the yet to be unveiled RS Q8? The interior looks exactly like the new A6, 7, and 8.
By reilo Go To PostIsn't the point of Miatas also their friendliness to be dailies? When talking about small and light, minimalistic sports cars, daily friendliness is sort of a relative term anyway. The Miata and the 400 would have far more similarities for being daily friendly than either one would to something like a normal sedan or SUV.
The 400 has a completely redesigned tub that allows easier ingress and egress as well as a much better interior than the first gen Evora. I think they somehow picked up 3 inches per footwell and 11 inches across the backseat as compared to the first gen car while also being 100 pounds lighter. Don't ask me how they worked that magic. It's low to the ground like the Miata but has about the same size trunk + the small back seats (so actually more room for stuff).

Wouldn't doubt it. Pretty much paying for saying "hey, I drive a Lambo SUV" , while laughing at peasants.

I would definitely go Lotus, then.
This has my stamp of approval.

I wasn't sure if I was just making that shit up in my mind, but god damn, look at this:
Eh, the Lamo's front end doesn't actively repulse me like the Audi's does. It almost looks like a hawk's beak and eyes which is something I don't think I've ever noticed in a car design before. I'm still trying to wrap my head around a compact Lambo SUV anyway but I certainly don't hate what they have come up with.
