Went to my local Ferrari dealer and tried out the different seat options.
Damn it. Racing seats are a must. Felt so much more snug and they look absolutely gorgeous. The search continues I suppose. Don't want to settle when spending this kind of money.

There is no better bang for the buck in exotics than a 458 with exhaust. Specifically, Novitec hardware. Mine sounds identical to this.

Next step would be to test a Spider (yeah yeah only coupe i get it).
It lacks the big glass window and you don't get to see the engine properly but you get an - ableit small - rear window that you can OPEN while having the roof closed.
I drive all the time like that when it's too cool to have the top down.
Seriously it's the most amazing thing about the Spider. The sound is wonderful, it creates a resonance space i have never experienced before.

Makes a stock 458 sound like a Prius. I would’ve probably already sold mine and gone back to Lambo V12 if not for this system.

I was so close on getting an LP SL that was also available for sale but decided on the Pre-Lp. The Gallardo LP has an odd firing engine so it could never sound as good as the pre-PL SL.
Awhile ago I think I saw your Balloon white Merci parked on the street at North Beach. That car was gorgeous.

Fantastic choice. The pre-LP G is one of the wildest sounding cars with a free-flowing catless exhaust system. After trying practically every McLaren, I came to the realization that sound is critically important to the enjoyment of a car on public roads governed by traffic rules.
I see MOP droppin dudes off in tunnels to record, and poppin his exhaust. :flamesemoji:
I'm not brave enough to go any further on my car's exhaust beside the X-Pipe. LOL.
Also, wanted to say my 600HP tune has been ordered. I'm gonna hold off on the pulleys. I don't really wanna mess with them.

Cars and Coffee was pretty cool today, albeit nothing that special especially if you go every month...I didn't even take pics lol.
I did take a ton of video though and I'll hopefully have it done sometime before the weekend ends.

I completely and wholeheartedly agree! Sound IS critical. My ideal next car will sound great inside and out and will be able to use that great sound even at slow, law-abiding speeds. Downshifting while coming to a stop and causing all sorts of pops and gurgles from the exhaust will likely always be one of my favorite driving activities. It has to sound great or it won't be coming home to my garage!

The Kline inconel exhaust is $9k ... so it's crazy expensive, I dont think I want to spend a bunch on an exhaust again.
LOC will be a better deal.
But right now I'm satisfied with stock exhaust...so far.

Looks like if I want to drive a manual, it will have to be the 3.0L V6 since I didn't see that option available for the 2.0L I4. That would be roughly $640 a month. I wonder if I could haggle down the lease payment if I put down like half or more of the $23K total lease payments as a down payment. The convertible would be $690 a month or $24,800 total payments.
It looks like maintenance is not included as part of this lease program. Is that normal? I've never leased before.

Alpha, do you know when Jaguar debut's the next year's models? I'm trying to figure out how much time I have to go through with a lease at good prices.

Alrighty, I've gotta slow you down now.
1) Maintenance is free on all Jaguars for up to 5 years. Don't worry about that.
2) You never EVER put money down on a lease, not even the taxes. I will emphasize this: EVER. Especially not a large sum like that. If the car gets totaled or stolen, whatever, you've lost that money. It's like paying for 18 months of your rent up front and then the building burns down and you get nothing back in return. Keep the money.
3) Leases are very negotiable. What you're paying for is the predicted depreciation of the vehicle as stated by the bank. This changes monthly by the bank leasing out of the car - this is called the 'program'. Programs consist of the residual value (percentage of worth the vehicle will retain when the lease is over), money factor (a form of interest embedded into the lease), and incentives. The higher the residual + the lower your money factor = cheaper lease. Cherry on top if there are lease incentives (something like $2000 lease bonus). But dealerships can also apply their own lease bonuses on top of corporate incentives. Sometimes they can be combined, sometimes not. Do your homework, don't settle for just one dealer.
The lease prices you see on Jaguar's website are based on MSRP (the S = Suggested). You don't pay MSRP. It's a suggestion. Use Truecar and Carsdirect to configure the vehicle you want. You'll see what the invoice price on that vehicle is. Take note on TrueCar to see how much a similar F-Type sold for in your area through the dealers. You'll likely see huge deltas between MSRP and Invoice, but you'll also see people going way below invoice.
CarsDirect will tell you what incentives are around. If there are cash bonus incentives, you can negotiate as such: your out of pocket expense will be: 1st month's payment, bank fees, and DMV (this is usually in the neighborhood of $1500 or so). Thereafter, note the MSRP, and indicate that you want the sale price to be invoice + incentives (which should put you at a few grand BELOW invoice). This will make a huge difference in the lease payments. So if MSRP is like $68K, invoice is $64K, then after incentives you can be at $62K (I don't have the actual numbers in front of me, this is a hypothetical), you've knocked $6K off the price. That could bring a no money down lease from like $750 to low $600s.
I encourage people who daily drive and use their cars to go to work to lease. Whether its an expensive car or cheap car. Why? Because the probability of a daily driven vehicle being hit is fairly likely, especially if you live in populated areas - which means the value of the car tanks. If your leased vehicle is hit, it's not your problem. Insurance fixes it, and when the lease ends you don't have to worry about the bad CarFax with an accident on record. The bank takes it back, and auctions it off. Most cars (especially luxury cars) are depreciating assets, it doesn't make sense to drop cash on them in one shot and watch the dollars shrivel up with the years as the value plummets to nothing. Pay as the car depreciates, and buy it out if you become attached to it.
By Kibner Go To PostAlpha, do you know when Jaguar debut's the next year's models? I'm trying to figure out how much time I have to go through with a lease at good prices.
Usually late summer. F-Types sit on lots quite a while, but if you find the right spec with high incentives, I'd jump on it.
Use this thread as a guide for current lease programs, they are the best programs the F-Type has ever seen at the moment: https://forums.edmunds.com/discussion/48958/jaguar/f-type/2018-jaguar-f-type-lease-deals-and-prices/p6
Thanks! I'll read all that soon. Don't worry about me jumping in too quick, either. It will be, at the minimum, a couple months before I spend any money at all.
On the Jaguar forums some folks were talking about having 2019 F Type's on order and those were scheduled to be delivered to dealers fairly soon (as in weeks away, not months). I also noted that last year Jaguar cut off orders for 2018 cars around November of 2017 (which seems crazy to me) although that might have been because they had too many cars already sitting on lots.
There is a manufacturer 10k or so incentive going right now but last year around Sept or Oct they had more than double that and folks were picking up F Type R's brand new in the 80's and SVR's for around 100, which is crazy. Who knows if those deals will come back this year but I am definitely going to be keeping my eyes on things. Fall of 2018 is much earlier than I was planning to buy anything but if I have a sizable down payment ready and there's a car I want at a screaming deal then it could certainly happen. The rumors are that 2019 will be the last year for the F-Type R and Jaguar's deal with Ford for their 5.0 blocks runs out in 2020 so get those V8 cars while you can.

The Jaguar AJ-III 5.0 is not even remotely related to the Ford Mustang 5.0. It is an evolution of the 4.2L motor that came in the 2000s Jags and built in England.
The AJ 5.0 is being replaced with a 4L Ingenium V8 in a few years, that's all.
I didn't say it was related to the Mustang motor. Where did you get that from? I just said they use the Ford block design and that deal is ending.
While I have faith that the new Ingenium V8 will be good it won't be the same as the current V8 and therefore will be somewhat different in character. One might argue that much of the F-Type V8's appeal is that motor and at this point it is a known quantity. My point was that if you like the character of the current R and SVR then the window will shortly be closing on getting one like that.

That Lambo actually isn't bronze... I found the shop or owner who did the wrap and it's rose gold like the iPhones. It definitely does look amazing though.

It depends. Some people love to shoot the shit with you, others(specifically the rich folk) literally just go there, park the car and disappear for an hour or two until they decide to leave.
From my experience at least, us plebs + classic car guys love to shoot the shit with everyone.

It's not the same Ford block or design. That's what I'm trying clarify here. Using the same design or block means they'd be related. They're not. Both blocks are entirely different.
Again, the Jaguar 5.0 came out in 2009 and was built on the existing AJ 4.2 motor and built in England. There is no correlation to Ford here at all. The last fuel injected Ford motor Jaguar used was the 2.5 and 3.0 V6 in the 2000s for the X-Type and S-Type. Apart from that motor, largely everything Jaguar designed while under Ford's ownership was their own. The X-Type was somewhat of a parts-bin car (and even that is GREATLY exaggerated).

Abarth are fun lil cars. Main issue is the shift throw is very mushy. They sound pretty loud for such a tiny car.
