This puts Moon in a really awkward position. His family is from the North, he wants good relations. They just spoke of peace, but now with Trump pulling out does that mean Moon still tries to go forward, or does he have to respect the wishes of America? Maybe a peace treaty is still on the table, but any expanded interactions between the countries can surely not progress due to sanctions.
Hard to disagree.
I really want to know what Xi said to Kim in their recent meeting. Ever since then NK has been acting billy big bollox again.

Trump had both Kelly and his lawyer Emit Flood at the DOJ / FBI shit show with Nunes. They’re not even hiding the corruption at this point
277 of 338 MPs voted for this, which is kind of wild in a country that frequently seems to be run by two telecoms. But I’ll take it.
Today is the day people in Ireland will go out and vote to keep or repeal the 8th amendment. The 8th amendment prohibits abortion except in cases where the pregnancy is life threatening.

You have a very well funded terrorist organisation in your midst.
So I don't understand how with all the school shootings happening there still hasn't been one to hit close enough to home to someone who is in power and can actually affect some legal change to repeal the second amendment.
Like, aren't there any FBI agents losing some kids to these shootings, at least? Did Comey never have any kids or something? Are FBI agents allowed to have kids in school shootings?

By Laboured Go To PostYeah obvs there'd be a big black market etc *snore*People will die to keep guns. It would be like a straight up attack on their very principals. Why is this so hard to understand?
Still not worth your country's time.
I don't think you're wrong but I'm not sure that country's particularly capable of repair either. I wasn't joking when I said the other day I said just let them have at it. This slow trickle of death under the guise of politics/constitutional freedom will toll nearly as many deaths but without end.
By diehard Go To PostPeople will die to keep guns. It would be like a straight up attack on their very principals. Why is this so hard to understand?
Naw, man, I know that, I'm saying it's about time they put up or shut up cus they're the problem. Take out an F-22 cluster bombing your house with your fucking AR-15 or frankly fuck off.
By DY_nasty Go To Postrepeal the second amendment right now and what changes? In the short term? Probably not much besides more restriction on the sale of guns.
But just like any other policy or law, the force of it will be felt years down the line. Banning new gun sales entirely would stop new guns from coming into circulation while the old ones would be phased out naturally by the march of time. You need to start somewhere and too many people frame the gun control debate as an instant fix, snap of the fingers type stuff.

Insult away. I'm done with these 'people'. You seem to value their willingness to violently rebel against law over the possibility of a functioning nation where kids don't get mass murdered daily. The only nation where this happens, by the by.
America's identity as a country that fought off its oppressors has turned into a collective mental illness.

so they're illegal - annnnnnnd now what? you still have largely the same issues. and i say this not because it won't help, it will - but there's a lot more practical things everyone can do from both sides of the fence that would see the same effect before bringing on the swath of shit that's coming wholesale with the removal of 2nd amendment. that's the false equivalency in its essence imo. "it'll do something" so will grilling the people who drop the ball and not the fucking NRA lmao.
its of the same breath as when people were raising hell about gas prices being too high and obama said "you can do little things like making sure your tires are properly inflated". make sure those tires are inflated instead of bluntly ignoring the consequences of the request here. like i said, i'm all about the cold dead hands shit. one of the reasons i joined the military was to be able to defend myself better and be more aware in general. i already committed. people tweeting in the AC ain't about even thinking about cops coming to their neighbors house for guns and those neighbors saying no.
empower police, give more powers legally to track and control firearms in all necessary forms - which people have shown they HATE -, increase security at mass transit/gatherings -which people can't stop with gulag and prison comparisons for some reason when they willingly and happily go to 21st century fortresses such as airports, museums, resorts, gov buildings, etc on regular-
i don't think people are even giving real considerations to the whole discussion besides the lowest and worst and ironically the rarest of it which are the school shootings. which i sort of understand but i wish the argument had more to it than "ban guns, y/n?" because its gonna require a hell of a lot more to it than that at all levels
By Perfect Blue Go To PostIs this satire?no its not. and if you're from urban areas i kinda get it. but anywhere outside of huge cities (and honestly within some, if you look hard enough) you'll see legit armaments fit for a coup attempt in some small countries. its not even the cults or anything either. not the doomsday preppers. its just people like anyone else. the communities that've armed together especially? its hilarious because they're largely amicable.... you pick a fight with that kinda shit and yeah
you'll easily have more 'dozens dead' news bits running.
again, its ironic because you look back at the black panthers and how they were 'disarmed' and you've got plenty of examples of how bloody that is. the worst thing you can do is assume that everyone with a gun is a murderer or criminal - and then meet them with the most militaristic and overbearing police forces in the world... that's not gonna go well under any circumstance to say the least. but again we never talk about that. we just say 'ban guns - and why don't you want to do it?' and just breeze by everything else thats a factor
in the meantime, how about we fix child protective services and do just a little more. treat security like its a real thing that people actually do normally instead of a concentration camp for kids. people thought that having elementary kids being picked up in the open with teachers present wasn't gonna make a dent in kidnappings but damn - doing little stuff and honestly trying where you can helps lol

See, I get what you're saying, here - functionally it would be a phenomenally difficult undertaking that may lead to many deaths, cus, ya know, some people are pretty addicted to their gun power fantasy. But you're apparently the most powerful and well funded nation on Earth with the best funded police (replete with military hardware!) and frankly the unpleasant short term pain, to me, would be worth the long term benefits. I know it'll never happen and it would be seen as unpresidented and draconian. America won't change. And I think that's so much sadder than the (still unpleasant) alternative.
This is a (harshly) utilitarian assessment. There's no happy solution to the illness from which America suffers.

By Laboured Go To PostOr just long term never-ending, and indeed infinite, gun deaths as acceptable collateral for freedom… brehs. So i assume you think alcohol should be banned also?
At the end of the day, guns are a fundamental principle of the US. Getting rid now will never work.
But surely the federal gov’t can step in and ban things like open carry. Still shocks me when I see pictures of guys with assault rifles hanging off of them while shopping at a supermarket. For me, you want to own a gun. Fine, but unless you are hunting or going to or from a gun range then that shit should be kept locked at home.
Also, any person who has there gun used in a crime by a lived one or friend should be held responsible as an acomplice. I know America has laws for this with other cases for murder.

By Laboured Go To PostYa I mean if I could kill someone in a split second with it on a whim I'd be pretty against that.Well there's these things called DUI's...
By diehard Go To PostRefer to possible civil war with countless deaths as "unpleasant short term pain" brehswell, it would end all that shit.... after about 10-15 years of wild bloodshed and who knows how many fanatical groups gaining traction in government, somehow finding a way to blame it all on brown people and killing mostly brown people, and the very strong possibility of it all failing because popular opinion for it dies off (like it always does when americans see too much shit too close to home after more than a few months) and you're left with a reinforced stance on more guns AND a more militarized, blueline'd up police force
but we're clearly not there yet lol
By diehard Go To PostWell there's these things called DUI's…
Come on, I may be a drunk stupid English person but we're both a lot better than bringing cars into this particular equation.
i never really liked the cars thing. cars aren't explicitly made to kill people
however, if you're determined to kill people you're gonna go down the checklist until you're unable, caught, or succeed imo. my issue with gun control is that there's a lot of "thoughts and prayers" when it comes to assuming the people who are supposed to regulate/enforce in place laws are actually doing the best they can do with the best resources available. i dont even think most people talking gun laws even understand what the punishments are for scrubbing a serial are. it kinda helps to understand the issue beyond yes/no
and as for the bolded for, i WISH family members would at least see trial for the shit their loved ones did - but those laws mainly come out the wood work when its time to throw the book at black people lol

Your country did it too.
