Harry Giles is out for the rest of the season. Everyone was applauding the Kings draft but right now its not look too hot.
By s y Go To Posthttp://bkref.com/tiny/VD00pWS are accumulated over a season, no? Isn't it better to compare WS/48 because we're only half-way through the year?
By reilo Go To PostWS are accumulated over a season, no? Isn't it better to compare WS/48 because we're only half-way through the year?WS is just the default sort category, i think he was just linking to the list.
By reilo Go To PostWS are accumulated over a season, no? Isn't it better to compare WS/48 because we're only half-way through the year? And if you change it to 7-0 or taller and sort it by WS/48, that list becomes more interesting: http://bkref.com/tiny/ujYmJ
TL:DR; Kristaps is Nenad Krstic tier
By reilo Go To PostWS are accumulated over a season, no? Isn't it better to compare WS/48 because we're only half-way through the year?Im not talking about WS. I forgot to remove them.
I just wanted to post a list of players around KP's height and MPG getting those type of rebounds.
Basically mediocre rebounders.
By blackace Go To Posthard to rebound and flopThe real answer.
Hard to rebound when you're snapping your back in half pretending to box out.....
rebounding is becoming a more and more worthless stat though. It still means something with bigs but bringing up guard rebounding is ugh now
By s y Go To PostIm not talking about WS. I forgot to remove them. The list I linked is a bit more interesting. Outside of 21-year old Dirk and a couple of Brook Lopez seasons, everyone in the Top 10 was quite a bit over the age of 30. And had better WS/48.

Offensive boards? Meh.

By s y Go To PostI'd say defensive rebounds are becoming more and more important. Offensive boards? Meh.Rebound per game by itself is one of the most cheesed stats in the league.
And another reason why he's trying to run out and initiate early is because he's starting to realize how much work it is to be the #1 option. He ain't built like any other 7 ft, high rpg guy either.
By s y Go To PostI'd say defensive rebounds are becoming more and more important, especially when limiting opponent possessions is a huge part of having a great defense. Offensive boards? Meh.Just all depends on the team. Those offensive boards that Steven Adams gets saves that team sometimes, those defensive rebounds that YNB gets off free throws mean nothing. The Jazz's scheme is for the 1-3 positions to never go after an offensive rebound..

The Jazz's scheme is for the 1-3 positions to never go after an offensive rebound..It's also bizarre because the guards job during freethrows is to prevent the opposing guard from sneaking in and stealing a rebound. So if he's not checking him, who is?
By Random Ass Username Go To PostPut some dudes around him and give him something to work with then. What are the knicks doin'.Kanter has been a revelation, but he only plays 26 minutes maybe?
THardJr. just came back after missing 2 months, KP went into his slump/chuck phase right around then.
Jack actually has exceeded expectations with his play, but the Knicks have mentioned they are working on the transition from him to Ntilikina/Burke.
I look at the team and once again, they are in every game but 4th quarter execution/defense dooms them. They need to score 105+ to win most nights, and the defense has to not be terrible for them to compete. They've blown so many late 3rd/early 4th big leads over the past month also. That's why the stretch from now until the ASB will be very interesting; they are back to full strength and have added more scoring to the bench (Beasley/Burke). How does Hornacek manage minutes to a) keep KP fresh b) get Ntilikina his run c) matchup between a more offensive lineup (Beasley/Burke/Kanter) and his defensive lineup (Lee/Thomas/O'Quinn).
By reilo Go To PostWait, Knicks are openly discussing starting Trey Burke 😂 ???????... no. They plan to have him play more than garbagetime minutes a game in the next few weeks.
THE Trey Burke?
By The Frankman Go To Post… no. They plan to have him play more than 4 mnutes a game in the next few weeks.but why 😂
By reilo Go To Postbut why 😂He doesn't know the offense and he's not 38? If Jack got a serious injury a few weeks ago Knicks would have been left with Ntilikina and Ramon Sessions at PG. I think Burke is JUST A BIT BETTER than Ramon Sessions.
Oh, and Ron Baker. Can't forget Ron!
By s y Go To PostI'd say defensive rebounds are becoming more and more important, especially when limiting opponent possessions is a huge part of having a great defense. Offensive boards? Meh.Both are still important... teams shoot around 46% on average... 2 possessions pretty much equal a bucket
By reilo Go To PostWhat an endorsementNever said Knicks were swimming in riches, just that they have a little more bench now than beginning the year.
Actually trade market should be interesting. Knicks should start shopping Kanter/O'Quinn to gauge their value.
I'd say offensive rebounds are the most important for a team like GS. It's how they keep shitting on people. Back out try a three again.
By Random Ass Username Go To PostI'd say offensive rebounds are the most important for a team like GS. It's how they keep shitting on people. Back out try a three again.Warriors are 25th in offensive rebounds per game (8.5/gm). Thunder are 1st (12.3/gm). Warriors are also 3rd in Pace whereas Thunder are 25th. ORB%? Thunder 1st, Warriors 21st.
By Random Ass Username Go To PostI'd say offensive rebounds are the most important for a team like GS. It's how they keep shitting on people. Back out try a three again.in basic an extra possession is important for any team.

By pilonv1 Go To PostWhen you have to box out for your point guard so he can get a meaningless statistic in chasing an individual award?Nice
By blackace Go To Postin basic an extra possession is important for any team.Teams are adverse to it when it makes them compromise their transition defense as it is far easier to score in transition than half court.

By shun Go To PostWhat this tells me is that Klay is as popular as YNB, and will be more popular than him soon.
Klay has all of China behind him, he's the modern T-Mac but with the ability to not choke in every playoff game

Cannot believe they aren't televising this
By diehard Go To PostCousins did not deserve to start. Butler did.agreed. butler has been a beast this year.
By pilonv1 Go To PostCannot believe they aren't televising thiswould be awesome if these picks were done right before the game started like pickup basketball lol
By diehard Go To PostCousins did not deserve to start. Butler did.He was listed as a guard...so it wasn't Cousins that kept him out.
Cousin also has been putting up stupid numbers
By diehard Go To PostCousins did not deserve to start. Butler did.Butler is backcourt in the voting while Cousins is frontcourt. They had no impact on each other.
By Kibner Go To PostTeams are adverse to it when it makes them compromise their transition defense as it is far easier to score in transition than half court.so that would make extra possessions for that team even more important...
By Kibner Go To PostButler is backcourt in the voting while Cousins is frontcourt. They had no impact on each other.Oh i know, im adding my worthless 2 cents about who deserves to start. I'd take LMA starting over Cousins honestly. I probably hate on DMC too much , i know.
By pilonv1 Go To PostCannot believe they aren't televising thisThey're really missing out on some good shit. Common folk getting to witness the best being snubbed like when we were all kids would be hilarious af.
