Why’s it gotta be so hard to shop for dust filters? I just need a 90mm fine dust filter (RGB optional), and all I can find are those awful PVC mesh “filters” in that size.

Among the first blazing fast 4K UHD + 144 Hz monitors, are the 2018 Acer Predator X27 (UM.HX0EE.009) first unveiled in 2017, and soon to be joined by the ASUS ROG Swift PG27UQ. Both monitors feature 4K Ultra HD resolution, 144 Hz refresh-rate, IPS quantum-dot panels, and support for the new NVIDIA G-SYNC HDR standard. The monitors take input from DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0, although you will need DisplayPort 1.4 to get 4K @ 144 Hz to work correctly. The IPS quantum-dot panels feature DCI-P3 color-standards, 99% Adobe RGB coverage, and 10 bpc (1.07 billion-color) palette, in addition to 384 LED elements backlighting the panel. The ROG Swift PG27UQ starts at 2,445€ and the Predator X27 at 18,475 DKK Sounds good? Get ready to foot upwards of USD $3,000 for either of them, to go with your $3,000 TITAN V, for a 3,000-inch e-p.

Settled for the PVC shitfilter since I had one spare. Turned my fans around, mounted both to the cooler.

It's art. The artiest of arts.
By Kibner Go To Postneeds one more fan for the remaining exposed heatsink surfaceI like the exposed heatsink look.
It'd look pretty rough with a fan on the front since they're facing backwards now. Though once thing I do need is some extra RGB. Might get some of those Phanteks Halos for my 120mm slim fans.
At a coffee shop programming and using my HHKB Pro 2 for the first in a long time, and it took me a couple minutes to remember all the shortcuts. So happy I bought this thing years ago. Having a super compact keyboard with Topre switches for programming on the go is so nice.
looking into ultrawide for work, fam.
what say you about these?
LG-34UC88-B or Dell UltraSharp U3415W
I'm open to one of those cheaper Korean brands too, just haven't looked too much into them.
Don't really care about refresh rate nor HDR.
I have a separate panel for 10-bit, color accurate monitoring.

The Ultrasharp line has always been quality, iirc, so I don't think you can go wrong with them. May be able to find similar quality for a little cheaper, but that would take some research.
Yeah, they are also popular enough so that if there are any quirks with them and how they work with certain software or hardware, you will be more likely to find explanations or workarounds.

cool, thanks gents.
Dell it is then.
next upgrade is from internal RAID to an external enclosure so I can add more HDD in the future.

I actually would go with the LG, it's a newer version of the panel. But no real big difference either way.

do tell please.
By Kabro Go To Postbut there is a difference? The LG is more curved (preference thing) but i believe the general consensus is that there should be a little less backlight bleeding on it.
do tell please.
The Dell does have USB uplink which is cool. People say it can have issues with a buzzing sound, though.
What prices are you seeing for each of them?
thanks for bringing it up,
i hate backbleeding, I was close to pulling the trigger on the samsung brand with the VA panel but I know the limited viewing angle will bug me.

I figured it out. It's the hub I have connected.

An integrated network card dying is a bit odd, but not unheard of. Does it show up under hardware components in Windows?
EDIT: Nice, nevermind then.

Goddamn, they'll be milking that shit for years too, if the current high-end UW market is anything to go by. The prices haven't dropped nearly as much as people had hoped over the past two years.
Assembled my Intel NUC7i7DNKE kit and just finished installing Debian on it. It's super fucking tiny to have a 500 GB SSD, 32 GB of ram, and a four-core i7 CPU.
First complaint: tiny-ass fan is loud and whiny when it gets going. Really can't wait till Akasa makes a completely passive case for it.

I know it’s hard to believe.
Edit: it’s got me on the fence with whether to scrap/sell my R5 1600 and motherboard for an 8700K and Z370 ITX or wait it out another year to see how Zen 2 turns out.
Hell, even a i5 8400 outperforms an overclocked R5 1600 at half the power draw.

By HottestVapes Go To PostI know it’s hard to believe. The Cpu game moves so slow that you can probably wait a year with no issues unless your current cpu is like six years old.

Just ordered a passively cooled case for my new toy after the case company confirmed it is compatible with my version of the Intel NUC board.
By Zabojnik Go To PostI'd look great in a rack.Yup.
New fan layout has been perfect. Lower temps and the case has positive air pressure now, so hopefully less dust build up. Best part about it is how quite it is. 1000RPM on the 90mm fans and overclocked, the CPU sits at 65c under full load.
Between that and putting new feet on the case for my GPU to get more air/lower temps. My PC is practically inaudible now. The GPU is the loudest thing in it, but it stays quite enough with 70% fan speed. Doesn't go over 75-6c.
The minimalism of that case excites me.

By Zabojnik Go To PostDo it, Vapes.Breh, don't tempt me. I've been looking up pre-delidded 8700K's on Overclockers, be cheaper and less risk than buying the delid tool and chip to do it myself. Plus a Z370 ITX, would come to around £500 and I wouldn't even sweat it. Bit of liquid metal, a copper IHS for the fuck of it.
5Ghz overclock in a sub-20litre case without burning my house down.

Well my computer is on the process of going kablooey. I hope the GPU prices keep dropping, alot of 1070 cards are in the $500-550 range now.
