Wow. When is the last time a horror movie won an award like this? Silence of the Lambs?

Yeah I think so.

I always find it weird when people put emotional investment in Academy Award winners. I'm a huge movie fan and my favorites of the ones nominated was Blade Runner, but i won't feel anything if it doesn't win. It doesn't somehow many me enjoy a movie any less or more.
But then again i watch sports, so...
edit: immediately after posting this i realized Blade Runner wasn't even nominated, I guess that reinforces my point though haha.

People need validation of shit they like, that's why arguments over even crap like video games and whether they're good or not exists.
Not going to lie. I just want to see that dude on reset that was claiming Shape of Water was the greatest movie of all time 3 months before he actually watched it to lose his shit
Dunkirk, Get Out, or Three Billboards, I have no problem if one of those wins.
Edit:
Also watching Red Sparrow tonight.

Once again i liked Dunkirk but if it won (it won't) we have a world where it won and Saving Private Ryan didn't.
here i go getting sucked in to caring

Film became easier for me once I realized the final race of Speed Racer is the pinnacle of American cinematography.

NO
I saw a trailer for Red Sparrow legit thought it was an ad for BMW. Still could be i guess. A really long one.
This might be one of the most balanced years in a while. Three Billboards, Lady Bird, The Shape Of Water, Call Me By Your Name and Get Out all have a decent shot at winning the Oscar and I wouldn't be upset if any of those won.
Edit: Almost forgot that Sufjan Stevens is playing at the Oscars. That's fucking insane and easily my most anticipated moment of the night.

I thought it was a good movie. Solid ADULT (very well done I might add) thriller that's far more modern than I expected. Going into it I thought this was Cold War era Russia vs. America and it's not it. It's something that takes place in 2017. Mind you there is a plot point that deals with 3.5" floppy disks, which I just go ahead and say is more striking than USB keys. That would be the only thing that is out of date and I'd love to know their decision to use that and not something modern.
By reilo Go To PostColumbus is such a good fucking movieOh thats the one with John "wait, he's 45???" Cho. I'll have to check it out.
Will be doing a triple bill of Lady Bird, Call Me By Your Name and I, Tonya today with a friend before the Oscars ceremony. I know I, Tonya is not nominated for best pic, but i dont care, dammit lol
Oscars can eat a dick for not including Blade Runner.
Gonna watch the Age of the Shadows tonight and still gotta watch Silence.

Every time I see him I think of this:
Saw Get Out and I, Tonya tonight. Really enjoyed both.
Thought Get Out needed some time to get going but once it starts it's really good. Great performances all around too. Love that Darius from Atlanta shows up in it.
I, Tonya was something completely different. Really loved the editing and the pacing. Most of the time it's running on full speed and the fourth wall breaking moments felt really natural to me. Margot Robbie did a great job. And a compliment to the folks in charge of the soundtrack, some great music in there.
