Adam Neumann, the co-founder and former CEO of the shared office startup WeWork, is working on a new rental real estate business that has received funding from Andreessen Horowitz. According to a report from The New York Times, the venture capital firm invested around $350 million in Neumann’s up-and-coming real estate business, called Flow, which aims to provide a consistent housing experience across a chain of branded apartment complexes.
As noted by the Times, this investment marks the “largest individual check Andreessen Horowitz has ever written in a round of funding to a company.” It puts Flow’s valuation at over $1 billion — despite critics “who have described his leadership of WeWork as a cautionary tale of corporate hubris” — and it hasn’t even launched yet.
Andreessen Horowitz co-founder Marc Andreessen explains in a blog post. “Residential real estate — the world’s largest asset class — is ready for exactly this change.”Did they learn nothing? This is clearly a sign that VCs have too much fucking money and are still willing to gamble on crooks and liars.
Time to regulate the VCs and tax the fuck out of them. "World's largest asset class" goddammit.

Rap Snitches. LMFAO
I'm sure there are some entertainers that got hit with drug charges, that would love to just have some of the deals that they're getting.

Jeremy Grace, who was sentenced to three weeks in jail for entering the Capitol, tried to profit off his participation by helping his father sell T-shirts, baseball caps, water bottles, decals and other gear with phrases such as "Our House" and "Back the Blue" and images of the Capitol, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors said Grace's "audacity" to sell "Back the Blue" paraphernalia is "especially disturbing" because he watched other rioters confront police officers on Jan. 6. A defense lawyer, however, said Grace didn't break any laws or earn any profits by helping his father sell the merchandise.
Federal authorities seized more than $62,000 from a bank account belonging to riot defendant John Earle Sullivan, a Utah man who earned more than $90,000 from selling his Jan. 6 video footage to at least six companies. Sullivan's lawyer argued authorities had no right to seize the money.
Richard "Bigo" Barnett, an Arkansas man photographed propping his feet up on a desk in the office of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has charged donors $100 for photos of him with his feet on a desk while under house arrest. Defense lawyer Joseph McBride said prosecutors have "zero grounds" to prevent Barnett from raising money for his defense before a December trial date.
"Unlike the government, Mr. Barnett does not have the American Taxpayer footing the bill for his legal case," McBride wrote in a court filing.

Can’t even get mad at Neumann if morons still want to give him money - managed to con people into thinking a real estate company is actually a tech company is too funny

Either she can't afford to retire or she's been brainwashed so much she has no idea what life is outside of work. Either is an indictment of this society. I don't wanna hear about some "lonely" bs either. All the old people in my city meet up at these benches around the gas station or the park a few blocks away and just talk for hours upon hours. They all have some shared life experiences. Wtf does Carol have in common with her coworkers? She's old enough to be their great great grandparent. She was too old to even know what myspace was let alone TikTok
If I'm nowhere near retirement in 30 years I'm just gonna accidentally fall off the Empire State building.

It's not about money, retirement or anything like that. When you get old like this it's about having purpose, something to do, keep your brain and body active, to get up and have somewhere to be.
I think the minute she retires she's done for. Good for her for staying active all these years, it's an inspiration.
There are better ways to stay active.
If anyone of us are lucky enough to reach 100 - I would hope That my twilight years aren't spent doing fucking customer service.
No, it is NOT an inspiration at all.

Regular folk are told this shit time and time again. Working at 100 is good for your health! Weird, if it was so good for your health and gave you purpose why don't rich old people work? I mean actually work, not pretend like Dianne Feinstein.

There should be alternatives for people like her
No one should be working at 99. I’ve worked with 70 year olds and they’re useless, I can’t imagine someone 30 years older than them.

I don't know what's worse, saying no to a 99 year old in the interview or saying yes to taking on her on for wage slave labour.

Who could have foreseen this coming when the first small business loan package was made available with little to no oversight written directly in the bill because America is all about being business friendly?

Very cool that in a country in which we bitch and moan about benefits fraud by poor people struggling to get by, it turned out the biggest benefits frauds in the UK were - shockingly - private businesses.
