By blackace Go To Postwhen did you buy it? At launch it had mad issues…. which is sad considering they did great sales on Steam for 1Played it about a month after it came out, had no problems IIRC.
By alt sy Go To Postsomething about a bad game is bad forever
By rodeoclown Go To PostNo, they don't own Hitman. Square gives them an exclusive license to develop games with it.https://www.trustedreviews.com/news/hitman-ip-is-now-fully-owned-by-io-interactive-2952080
So what good is the studio without the only IP they've worked on that matters? If the game bombs (when) and they need a buyer, it's really not an attractive package. They'll probably close.
?
By alt sy Go To Post
not surprising. GameFreak are extremely incompetent devs. they'd probably make the game stutter on a RTX2080TI
By blackace Go To Posthttps://www.trustedreviews.com/news/hitman-ip-is-now-fully-owned-by-io-interactive-2952080They never say they own, but that they "control" it. Square owns all the Hitman related marks. IO controls it the same way that Harebrained Schemes controlled all their old FASA IP: an exclusive licensing deal. And like how Microsoft recently elected to not renew their licensing deals for Shadowrun, MechAssault, etc, Square could easily stop licensing Hitman to IO.

By alt sy Go To PostEither way, IO make good games. I'm not saying MS should buy them but it's not like MS bought Obsidian to make another Pillars of Eternity.I've never been impressed by their non-Hitman output.
And Josh Sawyer keeps talking about making a Pillars tactics game, though! Don't give up the dream! I've actually been thinking it hasn't been a coincidence that Microsoft cancelled their Shadowrun deal and then acquired Obsidian. But we'll see.
By data Go To PostIO made as many bad games as good games. Saying they make 'good games' is a little charitableSame with Obsidian. Except I don't think anyone bought their last few games to judge the quality.

“Therefore I am proud to announce today that IOI is now officially an independent studio. We have successfully concluded our negotiations with Square Enix and have agreed to a management buyout. Crucially, we will keep all of the rights to the Hitman IP.”
I am just going by this article... seems like they bought it... but maybe not🤷
By DY_nasty Go To Postpillars tactics makes me sick to my stomach…It's never gonna happen with Pillars 2 sales. Whatever Sawyer directs next will probably be a new IP, but it'll be a while since he's producing their Outer Worlds thing.
Or Brute Force Tactics. He can do that, too. Blinx The Time Cat Tactics. Really, the possibilities are endless.
By Facism Go To PostBinding of Isaac Afterbirth + is so legit it's kept me away from Red Dead Gammon 2.
I’ve playing it off and on for years. Prefer it on a handheld, so most of my time has been on a Vita, but the Switch version has become my go to for the newer content.
Put time into on PS4 and PC too. Spelunky is still the best though. Must’ve put hundreds of hours into that on the Vita when I had a shit job and played it through work. Beating Hell was an emotional experience.
By Facism Go To PostYou're going to get a Halo of Eternity and you're going to like it.Forza Eternity. Finally, a car game with the kind of choice and consequences we've all been waiting for. Too bad the Nissan Skyline is OP.
By DY_nasty Go To PostReally sucks how Pillars is getting shafted. Definitely a top 5 RPG this year tooIt sucks that it seems to have only really sold to Kickstarter backers, but I'm happy that Sawyer will have money and support on his next project. He can make a new IP he won't have to kickstart or make in Unity. Fingers crossed for better QA.

See this is why you're the GOAT slaenter.
I've only put about 150 hours into it on steam, more on PS4. Waiting for a sale of Afterbirth and plus on that platform though, i'm not paying £17 for them.

I paid full price for the Switch download like a damn fool and have no regrets. That style of game is just too perfect to play in bed or on a toilet.
By Facism Go To PostEven whilst driving for that extra challenge
Pfft, Switch was tailored to it. Fits in a sat nav mount, split controllers so you can steer and change gears without giving up up control of the game. Too easy
Think I'm going to finally hop on PSVR. Best Buy has bundles $100 off for BF, which is live now.
There's this one that's $250

Not knowing much about PSVR, I feel like the latter has the better games? But the creed bundle gets you move controllers.

Heard so many good things about Superbot and Moss.
Might as well get that first, see how you like the system before going in for the PS Move controllers.

By Bold 2 in One Go To PostWhat the hell is Celeste and why is era is perpetual orgasm about it?
It's a pretty good 2d platformer. But like most of those, I will never quite understand people going crazy for them. It's good though, and I really like how it looks.
By Bold 2 in One Go To PostWhat the hell is Celeste and why is era is perpetual orgasm about it?
It's a fun skill based platformer, if you've played Super Meat Boy, it's quite similar to it. I enjoyed it a lot, almost 100% until I gave up because I couldn't git gud enough :(
I guess the main reason ERA is going gaga about it is because Celestes story is about a girl with a heavy depression and anxiety who goes to climb a mountain to find herself.

By Bold 2 in One Go To PostWhat the hell is Celeste and why is era is perpetual orgasm about it?It’s a fantastic 2D platformer although the story never hit me the way it did other people. Then again a lot of people think the new GoW’s story is high art so what do I know.

Thanks,
Yeah, different strokes and all, just curious what the non era take was on the title.
Wasn't looking down on it, would never be an unrelenting, condescending cunt to someone else for their opinions on video games of all things.
Might check out Celeste further down the road.

It looked and sounded awful since the initial reveal.
i kind of want to get that $199 PS VR bundle.
